2012 Ford F-250 Super Duty

Recalls and owner complaints reported to NHTSA

Compared with the typical (middle) count of 106 complaints across the 6 model-year 2012 heavy-duty trucks we cover. Best-selling trucks naturally collect more complaints because more of them are on the road.

What owners should know

Covers 2011–2016 · 6.7L Power Stroke diesel · Updated 2026-10-01

These notes cover the 6.7L Power Stroke diesel. If the truck has the 6.2L gas engine, the engine sections below don't apply, but the front end, rust and transmission notes still do.

We counted 1,053 owner complaints filed with NHTSA for 2011–2016 F-250s with the 6.7L diesel (identified by VIN). Complaint counts show what owners report most often. They don't tell you how many trucks have a problem, and owners with problems are far more likely to file a report than owners without them.

At a glance

  • Front-end shake ("death wobble") is the most frequently reported problem by a wide margin. Check the front end carefully on any 4x4.
  • The high-pressure fuel pump (CP4.2) is the most expensive known failure. Clean fuel and regular fuel filter changes matter.
  • 2011–2012 trucks have extra early-production issues: exhaust temperature sensors, turbochargers and NOx sensors.
  • The transmission (6R140) has a good reputation when it's been serviced and the engine hasn't been aggressively tuned.

Front-end shake ("death wobble")

About 4 in 10 of the diesel complaints we counted (445 of 1,053) describe a violent shaking of the front end and steering wheel, usually set off by a bump at highway speed. It's reported on every year from 2011 to 2016. Owners describe having to brake hard to make it stop.

This isn't unique to Ford. It can happen on any truck with a solid front axle once steering and suspension parts wear. Ford released a service bulletin in 2011 that added a new steering stabilizer, but owners on forums frequently report that a new stabilizer only hides the shake for a while. The fix owners most often report as lasting is replacing worn parts, especially the track bar and its bushings, and checking the ball joints, tie rods and alignment. Bigger tires and lifts without the right correction parts make it more likely.

When buying: have a helper rock the steering wheel with the engine running while you watch the track bar ends and steering linkage for movement. On the test drive, hit some bumps at 50–70 mph. Ask whether the front end has had work and what was replaced.

High-pressure fuel pump (CP4.2)

All 6.7L engines from these years use a Bosch CP4.2 high-pressure fuel pump. When one fails, it can send metal particles through the whole fuel system, and the fix usually means replacing the pump, injectors, fuel lines and rails and cleaning the tank. Owners in NHTSA complaints describe bills of roughly $8,000 to $13,000, often with the engine shutting off while driving.

Failures are commonly linked to fuel problems: water, contamination or poor lubrication. Ford's 2024 CP4 recall (24S78) covers 2020–2022 trucks only, not 2011–2016.

When buying: ask for fuel filter service records and whether the pump has been replaced. Some owners add aftermarket protection (extra filtration, fuel additives, or a "disaster prevention" kit that keeps debris from reaching the injectors). These are signs of an owner who knew about the issue.

2011–2012: early-production issues

The first two years of the 6.7L have more reported problems than later years.

  • Exhaust gas temperature (EGT) sensors. 36 of the 41 EGT complaints we found are from 2011–2012 trucks. Owners describe the engine losing power or shutting down while driving, sometimes more than once. Ford's recall for this sensor covered certain ambulance-type trucks, not regular pickups.
  • Turbocharger. Early turbos used ceramic bearings that frequently failed, often between about 50,000 and 100,000 miles. Ford later switched to an updated turbo with steel bearings. Ask whether the turbo has been replaced. A loud whistle or screech and smoke are warning signs.
  • NOx sensors (2011). Ford ran a program in 2012–2013 to replace these sensors and update the software on 2011 trucks.

None of this means you should avoid a 2011–2012. It means records matter more: a 2011 with a replaced turbo and documented fixes can be a better buy than a neglected 2015.

Emissions system (DEF, DPF, NOx)

Like all modern diesels, these trucks use a diesel particulate filter (DPF) and diesel exhaust fluid (DEF). Complaints include DEF heater failures (code P20BA is frequently mentioned), NOx sensor failures and "exhaust cleaning" (regeneration) running too often. Lots of idling and short trips are hard on these systems.

When buying: look for warning messages about exhaust fluid or exhaust filters. Check how many of the truck's engine hours were spent idling, if the dash shows it. Ask whether the emissions system has been removed ("deleted"). A deleted truck can fail inspections and may be illegal to drive where you live.

Cooling system leaks

Radiator leaks come up often on owner forums, especially on 2011–2013 trucks, sometimes under 100,000 miles. Other frequently reported leak points are the O-ring at the upper radiator hose fitting and the plastic coolant bottle (degas bottle) and its hoses.

When buying: look for dried coolant crust on the radiator, hoses and degas bottle. Check that the coolant level is correct and the coolant is clean.

Rust and cab mounts

In salt-belt states, check the cab corners, rocker panels and wheel arches, and the lower radiator support. A smaller number of owners report rusted cab mounts that let the cab shift on the frame. That's a structural problem worth having a mechanic look at.

Transmission (6R140)

The 6-speed automatic is generally well regarded. Reported problems include harsh or slipping shifts and torque converter shudder, most often on trucks that tow heavy loads, missed fluid changes, or have aggressive engine tunes.

Maintenance tips for owners

These are Ford's intervals as published for these years. Use the "severe service" numbers if you tow, plow, idle a lot or drive off-road.

Service Normal Severe
Engine oil 10,000 miles or as shown on the dash 5,000 miles
Fuel filters (both) 22,500 miles 15,000 miles / 6 months
Transmission fluid 150,000 miles 50,000 miles
Coolant (first change) 105,000 miles / 6 years 60,000 miles
Front axle and transfer case 150,000 miles 50,000–60,000 miles
  • Drain the water separator whenever the dash says "water in fuel." Don't ignore it, because water is hard on the high-pressure fuel pump.
  • Buy fuel from busy stations and replace fuel filters with quality parts.
  • Check the front end (track bar, ball joints, tie rods) at every tire rotation, especially if the truck is lifted or on bigger tires.
  • Avoid long idling when you can. It's hard on the DPF and DEF systems.

Before you buy

  • Have a Ford dealer pull the truck's service and warranty history using the VIN. Owners on forums call this an "OASIS report."
  • Check open recalls at nhtsa.gov/recalls with the VIN.
  • Get a pre-purchase inspection from a diesel shop.
  • Bring our used truck inspection checklist.

Common failures & how to fix them

Parts and video buttons search for your 2012 Ford F-250 Super Duty. Always confirm a part fits using your VIN. Brakes, steering, fuel and airbag work affects your safety, so if you're not sure, have a qualified mechanic do it.

  • Front-end shake (death wobble)

    Moderate DIY

Signs: Violent shaking of the steering wheel and front end after hitting a bump, usually at 45+ mph. Slowing down hard is often the only way to stop it.

Fix: Find and replace the worn parts, most often the track bar or its bushings, then check ball joints, tie rod ends, the drag link and alignment. A new steering stabilizer alone usually only hides the problem.

  • High-pressure fuel pump (CP4) failure

    Easy DIY

Signs: Sudden stalling or no-start, low fuel pressure codes, metal in the fuel filter. Often there's little warning.

Fix: Prevention is the fix you can do: change both fuel filters on schedule, drain the water separator, and buy fuel from busy stations. Some owners add a kit that keeps pump debris away from the injectors. A failed pump usually means a full fuel system replacement at a diesel shop.

  • 6.7L exhaust temperature (EGT) sensor failure

    Moderate DIY

Signs: Check engine light, reduced power, or the engine shutting down. Most common on 2011–2012 trucks.

Fix: Scan for codes to find which sensor failed and replace it. There are four on the exhaust.

  • 6.7L coolant leaks

    Moderate DIY

Signs: Low coolant, a sweet smell, dried coolant crust on the upper radiator hose fitting, radiator or coolant bottle.

Fix: Find the source. The upper radiator hose O-ring is a common and simple fix. Radiators and coolant bottles are bigger jobs.

  • 6.7L DEF heater and NOx sensors

    Moderate DIY

Signs: DEF or exhaust fluid warnings, reduced power, check engine light.

Fix: Scan for codes. Common fixes are a NOx sensor or the DEF heater and pump assembly.

    Dec 2020 · #20E090000

Icon Vehicle Dynamics, LLC (Icon) is recalling all 05-UP FSD 2.5 Centerline Stabilizer Kits with part number 65050. The kits were sold as an accessory for certain 2005-2021 Ford F-250 4X4 and F-350 4X4 pickup trucks. The foam ring inside the stabilizer "through shaft" may block the piston ports, possibly causing the steering to lock up.

    Risk and fix

Risk: If the steering locks, it can increase the risk of a crash.

Fix: Icon will notify owners, and dealers will install a new shock assembly with a revised foam ring and steel support disc, free of charge. The recall began December 21, 2020. Owners may contact Icon customer service at 1-951-689-4266.

Over 1 year (2025) steering front end shaking began. Our dealership on oil changes did not tell us to watch for anything and we should have been warned. When the shaking occurred we changed Ford shock asborbers from Ford dealership. Problem still occured. We lost faith in Ford and our regular dealership. We then at Moore's tires purchased 4 Michelin premium tires for F250 heavy duty truck and told them about the severe shaking in front end that we will crash because we can't maintain control only to pull off the road with a prayer. Very difficult when this happens on the route 80 highway going 70 mph speed limit. So, Moore's tires store replaced with new tires and replaced some suspension parts thinking they fixed it but not sure. No recall to alert any Ford owners or repair shops... no warnings to anyone. We spent over $7,000. in trying to solve the front end shaking issue. We are lucky we did not die in an accident caused by the front end shaking and no steering control. We want re-imbursement and full repair as the problem is still happening. our family and all of us have Been a Ford customer for over 60 plus years. But not feeling confident or safe with purchasing a new ford vehicle going forward. This can NOT happen that Ford is allowing this risk to potentially kill people due to their neglegence in quality and recall for safety.

Driving on Pa turnpike twice this year and at 70 mph my 2012 ford f 250 with 79000 miles on it started shaking uncontrollably , had my wife and granddaughter with me and they cried and screamed till it stopped. Going to the dealer to see what Ford is going to fix for me before someone is killed ! Hopefully a recall or free fix! I have been educated that this has been an on going issue in many F250 Fords.

Today 11/21/24, I notified my husband as I am driving up the ramp going 50 my ford started to shake hard. I had to hold on to the steering wheel and pull over with out pressing the break. I came to a stop and kept him on the phone in case I were to flip over. The vehicle stopped wobbling and I started up again. I was not able to drive but less than 40 and again the wobble coming back. The commute for me was over 1 hour. I would not make it alive home. This vehicle had to go to the shop as if I were to drive home I would not be alive at this moment

The front suspension randomly shakes when doing speeds above 60 on the freeway. It’s very dangerous especially because we almost experienced running into a semi while driving on I-50 between a cement construction wall and the semi. I find it hard to believe that Ford will NOT own up to this. There is clearly a history of this. I simply want my front suspension fixed to meet safety standards.

I bought this truck used from a dealership in 2022-23 haven't really had any problems till about 2 months ago. Front end started a wobble. A friend of mine just sent me information NHTSA put out about the Death Wobble. I believe it expired in 2024. I never received any kind of recall on this. I was wondering if it would still be something I could get looked into. Thank you.

Due to the failure, the vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was discovered that piston rod #3 had snapped inside the engine and that the engine needed to be replaced. After a year, the engine was replaced; however, three weeks later, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where the contact was informed that the exhaust gas cooling system had failed and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 42,500.

Ford previously issued warranty extension for this vehicle 18-M-01 related to the replacement of the reductant heater unit. I acquired the subject vehicle above and had the repair done at my expense on September 9, 2015 with 115,710 miles on the vehicle using an OEM part. Eventually, Ford would reimburse me for this expense. The truck currently has 150,000 miles and once again the DEF heater failed . So, roughly 35,000 miles on a single unit. That seems ridiculous to me that an emissions part would fail after a mere 35,000 miles. My experience is far from being alone and others have reported similar experiences on internet forums. I will preserve this unit that failed for 60 days after the submission of this claim in case Ford or you would like to inspect it. Unfortunately, the result of having to perform repeated repairs is that people decide to remove and bypass the DEF system completely. That seems to be a terrible outcome for the environment. However, in communities where there is no emissions testing, no one will find out. Please require Ford to extend the warranty on this part again.

Death wobble--great oscillation and shuddering of steering wheel and vehicle itself after hitting patches of rough road at highway speeds. This has happened 5 times now. Truck is currently being inspected for any faulty equipment. This occurred on interstate 10 in LA, and if not for quick thinking, I would have swerved into other traffic or lost control completely. This is a known problem with Ford F250s and is very dangerous. No warnings, no lights, and no way to predict that this might occur driving over rough pavement.

The front end of the vehicle and wheels start to violently oscillate at speeds between 50-60 mph. Sometimes it occurs after hitting a small bump and often occurs over smooth roads. This has been described as the "death wobble". I have to slow down below 25 mph for the wobbling to stop. This has put me in numerous dangerous situations on the street amd highway.

THE DEATH WOBBLE MY F-250 TRUCK HAS BEEN HAVING A DEATH WOBBLE SINCE I BOUGHT IT ,I FIRST TOOK IT IN TO FORD SERVICE DEPARTMENT WITH 10,212 VEHICLE MILES ON THE TRUCK BECAUSE OF THE DEATH WOBBLE , AND HAVE TAKEN THE TRUCK SEVERAL TIMES FOR THE DEATH WOBBLE SINCE THEN . FORD MOTOR COMPANY HAS NEVER FIXED THIS PROBLEM , THEY ONLY MAKE MINOR CHANGES "BANDAID" TO THE TRUCK AND IT IS STILL NOT FIXED , THEY KEEP PUTTING ME OFF AND SAY THERE IS NO SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM. I HAVE SEVERAL PAGES OF SERVICE REPAIRS FORD HAS PERFORMED BUT THEY HAVE NEVER FIXED THE DEATH WOBBLE . MY FORD F-250 STILL HAS LOW MILEAGE BUT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. MY FAMILY AND I HAVE CAME VERY CLOSE TO A ROLL OVER AT 70 MPH ON THE INTERSTATE FROM WHEN WE HIT A BUMP IN THE ROAD. EVERY TIME THE TRUCK ROLLS OVER A BUMP AT ANY SPEED ABOVE 20 MPH IT GOES INTO A WOBBLE AND BECOMES VERY HAZARDOUS AND SCARY. WE BOUGHT THIS F-250 KING RANCH TO DRIVE AND ENJOY ON VACATIONS AND OTHER FAMILY TRIPS , BUT AT THIS TIME MY FAMILY AND I DON'T FEEL SAFE RIDING IN IT, NOR HAVING IT ON THE ROAD WAYS IN FEAR OF IT BEING A DANGER TO US AND OTHER DRIVERS OR PEDESTRIANS. THIS F-250 GOES INTO A DEATH WOBBLE WHEN ENCOUNTERING A BUMP IN THE ROAD , ON PUBLIC COUNTY ROADS, CITY STREETS , STATE HIGHWAYS AND ESPECIALLY INTERSTATES AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. I HAVE CONTACTED OUR LOCAL DEALER SEVERAL TIMES ON THIS ISSUE WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS UNDER WARRANTY. I HAVE CONTACTED FORD MOTOR CORPORATION ON THIS ISSUES AS WELL. YET NEITHER ONE OF THESE ENTITIES OF FORD MOTOR COMPANY HAVE ASSUME RESPONSIBILITY . REGARDS

MY LOCAL TIRE MAN DESCRIBED THIS AS A " DEATH WOBBLE" AND THAT IS AA GOOD DESCRIPTION. AS I DRIVE USUALLY AT 55 MPH THE TRUCK SUDDENLY STARTS TO SHAKE, NO PRIOR WARNING, SO HARD IT IS HARD TO HOLD ONTO THE STEERING WHEEL. O FAR I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO PULL OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND SLOW TO A STOP WITHOUT A WRECK. I CAN THEN PROCEED AS IF NOTHING HAS OCCURRED. THIS SEEMS TO BE GETTING MORE FREQUENT. AND MAKES ME NERVOUS WHEN I DRIVE.. I HAVE LEARNED FROM MY TIRE MAN THERE ARE OTHER OWNERS IN MY ARE HAVING THIS SAME PROBLEM WITH THEIR FORD TRUCKS. WE HAVE HAD FORDS SINCE THE '70'S AND NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM WITH ANY OTHER ONE. I UNDERSTAND THERE IS A PART OR SOMETHING THAT CAN BE DONE TO FIX THIS PROBLEM; HOWEVER IT COSTS $400-$500 AND I THINK THIS IS SOMETHING THAT FORD SHOULD FIX, NOT THE OWNER, WHEN IT SEEMS TO BE A FORD PROBLEM.WHETHER IN DESIGN OR WHATEVER. I EVEN HAD A FORD SERVICEMAN TELL ME THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM SOMETIMES WITH FORD . THIS IS A FRIGHTENING THING AND I ABOUT HAD A HEART ATTACK THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED.. LUCKILY I WAS ALONE AND DIDN'T FRIGHTEN ANYONE ELSE. THIS HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES FIRST IN 2014 . I WILL PUT THE LAST TIME IN THE SPACE BELOW AND I DID HAVE A FRIEND WITH ME THAT TIME.

WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 75MPH ON AN INTERSTATE; AFTER HITTING A BUMP OR EXPANSION JOINT THE FRONT END WOBBLES UNCONTROLLABLY UNTIL THE SPEED IS REDUCED BY ABOUT HALF. I HAD A TRUSTED MECHANIC LOOK AT MY TRUCK AND HE SAID ALL FRONT END PARTS WERE IN GOOD CONDITION AND TIGHT. HE TALKED TO A DEALER WHO RECOMMENDED REPLACING THE STEERING DAMPER AS A CURE FOR THE "DEATH WOBBLE" ISSUE. I HAD THAT REPLACED AROUND THE FIRST OF FEBRUARY 2021. I HAD NOT DRIVEN THE TRUCK ON AN INTERSTATE AT SPEED SINCE THE REPLACEMENT UNTIL TUESDAY, MARCH 9, 2021. THE WOBBLE HAPPENED THREE SEPARATE TIMES WITHIN A SPAN OF TEN MINUTES SCARING THE DAYLIGHTS OUT OF ME AND NEARLY CAUSING TWO WRECKS. THE TRUCK IS HAZARDOUS TO DRIVE TO NOT ONLY MYSELF, BUT TO OTHER VEHICLES IN MY VICINITY WHILE ON THE ROAD.

the diesel particulate filter is failing on a lot of 2011-2016 ford f-250 f-350, f-450, and f-550 Part 6D20000. Leaving vehicles stranded on the road while driving at 75 MPH. The safety was impacted by a sudden vehicle slowing down with no acceleration. It had also tried doing a lot of regins. This particular truck has not been inspected by a ford dealer nor insurance, but it has been inspected by me and a private mechanic. there weren't any prior problems with this truck. On top of this situation, diesel particulate filters are back ordered by about 3 months and cost about $4,700.00 for replacements. I do forget what the exact day was but it was somewhere in august of 2022

Okk Main issue is what everyone calls the “Death Wobble”. It has done it countless of times since I’ve had the truck. Even after I bought a New Fox Single steering stabilizer. I have replaced quite a few things under the front end that I was told “Could” be why it kept doing it. The most recent I’ve bought for the front is brand new Fox Shocks just like the ones I have on the back and it still does it. I’ve had the front end aligned a couple times since I’ve had the truck and rotated my tires once too. And to this day it Still does that death wobble. It scares me every time too still. Im afraid ima end up in a wreck or cause a wreck bc of it. Another issue is I keep having this warning pop up saying “ Engine Temp too high reduced engine power “ bc it thinks the engine coolant is too low which it’s Not. And when I scan the code through the OBD port it just says “Engine oil temp sensor too low/too high”. I had the Ford dealership in my town put a new Oil Temp sensor in it but it still throws a code just about everyday I drive it. Another issue I had was the High Pressure fuel pump on the front of the motor go out Literally while I was sittn in my driveway at night after just driving it not even 3 miles down the road to the store to grab a few things. And it ran fine like normal but soon as pulled in the driveway an was rolling my windows up about to go in it just died on me an had to get it towed to the Ford dealership in my town. They looked at my fuel an said my fuel was fine with No contaminants in it. I was just Unlucky they said so that was basically 10k out my pocket to pay for a Whole New fuel system. The Death Wobble is my most concerning issue but other than that the truck has been awesome.

Very intermittently, when I brake this vehicle to bring it to a stop, the engine will start to rev uncontrollably. I have to practically "stand" on the brake to keep it from charging forward. I have to turn off the truck to stop this high speed revving. After this happened 3 times in 2 months we took it to the dealer to check. There was nothing on the floor that could cause the gas pedal to accelerate. The dealer in Kingwood, WV could not duplicate, and found nothing wrong when inspected. We only use the truck once or twice a month so it is a low use vehicle. For this reason the problem does not occur frequently enough to replicate "on demand". While there was not a crash, it almost revved through an intersection and almost ran into another vehicle. Fortunately I was able to throw it into park (Not Good for the vehicle) and then turn it off.

I purchased this truck new in 2013 and it has only been serviced by Ford, except for an Air Lift Suspension Kit install to allow load leveling when towing. Low miles: 54484 actual. No collision damage, original paint. Date of repair:06/25/2025. Jenkins Ford RO#[XXX]. My truck has a Supercab (Extended Cab) with short rear doors that open to the rear. Both of these rear doors failed within 5 minutes of each other. Specifically, the inside door handles and opening levers on the forward facing side of the doors failed. This is absolutely a safety hazard because a Child, Senior, Handicapped person, pet, etc., would be trapped from making an emergency exit in case of accident or fire. A more athletic person may be able to pull themselves over the from bench seat to exit, but still delaying the exit and dangerous. There were no warnings to alert anyone of the failures. Jenkins Ford (Crystal River, FL) diagnosed the problem and made the costly repair. Both door cables were replaced, no warranty. Cost: $1558.80 I called Ford USA Customer Relations (800) 392-3673 at 1:16PM EDT on 06/24/2025. C/S Rep "Kisha" said Ford would not assist in any goodwill for repair of this safety item. I researched this problem online an apparently, this is a common failure due to plastic parts holding the cables. I acknowledge that this vehicle is over 10 years old, but feel that this is a safety item Ford should stand behind. People keep vehicles longer these days and mine has been garaged, meticulously maintained by Ford, and has extremely low miles. Jenkins Ford did a very professional repair and I'm very happy with this dealer. The Ford Motor Company should be required to recall and repair this problem. I CURRENTLY HAVE 122,000 MILES ON MY TRUCK AND IT'S ALL STOCK, EVEN THE TIRES ARE THE SAME TYPE AS OEM. FOR OVER 2 YEARS AND ABOUT 60,000 MILES I CONTINUALLY HAVE THE SAME DASH WARNING LIGHTS COME ON; HILL DECENT CONTROL & ADVANCED TRACK. THE BAD PART ABOUT THIS IS THAT THEY DON'T JUST COME ON AND REMAIN AS ACTIVE SYSTEM WARNINGS, THEY WILL FLASH ON, ALERT ME, THEN GO OFF AND THEN COME BACK ON. SO WHEN I CLICK "OK" TO SILENCE THEM, THEY ONLY STAY SILENCED FOR THAT OCCURRENCE. SO WHEN THEY GO OFF THEN COME BACK ON, IT ALERTS ME AGAIN AND AGAIN, AND AGAIN. I'VE BEEN ON ROAD TRIPS WHERE IT WILL CONTINUE THIS THE ENTIRE ROAD TRIP. THERE IS NO ESTABLISHED OR AVERAGE TIME THAT THE STAY ON, IT'S RANDOM. WHEN THESE ALERTS APPEAR, WHILE THEY ARE ACTIVE THE AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON. I DON'T GET AN ALERT THAT THE AIRBAGS ARE IN FAULT, I JUST GET A DASHBOARD LIGHT. SO I CAN ONLY ASSUME THAT THE AIRBAGS AREN'T WORKING WHILE THESE FAULTS ARE ACTIVE. I'VE TAKEN IT TO FORD DEALERS MULTIPLE TIMES FOR THIS WHILE IT WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY AND THEY CLAIM THAT NO FAULT CODES APPEAR AND THAT THEY COULDN'T DUPLICATE THE ISSUE. I'VE EVEN HAD A DEALERSHIP TRY TO CHARGE ME FOR THIS. I TOOK IT TO ONE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID IT WOULD BE A $100 DIAGNOSTIC FEE TO ATTEMPT TO FIND IT. I MENTIONED THE SAFETY ISSUE BUT THEY DIDN'T SEEM TO CARE. UPON REQUEST I CAN PROVIDE PICTURES OF MY DASH WHILE THEY ARE ACTIVE AND POSSIBLY DEALERSHIP RECEIPTS WHERE THEY DOCUMENTED IT.

Tire size 275/70R 18. I purchased these tires in April of 2020 from Stivers Ford in Birmingham, Al. I have since replaced 4 deflective tires and 2 tires there about to be defective. The major problem with this tire is that 1 of these tires blew out while driving 70mph on I-22 in Graysville, Al exit 87 westbound. This blowout resulted in my truck doing a 720 in the middle of traffic, if I had had a trailer connected to my truck this probably would have resulted in my death and/or others. I have since filed a claim with Continental Tires The Americas Case# 21218001, and sent all of the tires back to them that were defective. Continental Tires claims this was a result of a road hazard condition (6 times??). My vehicle was inspected by Sherrill Auto body and found that there was $5000+ damage that occurred. There were no warning lights or messages, the only warning I had was the truck started shaking and when the front tires went bad, there was shaking and death wobble at times. There is a recall on these tires "but not with my DOT#".

STEEL BELTS WERE BROKEN ACROSS THE TIRE IN TWO LOCATIONS ON THE CIRCUMFERENCE. FENDER AND TIRE REPLACED. LIKELY WOULD HAVE CAUSED SEVERE BODILY INJURY OR DEATH IF A PERSON HAD BEEN STANDING NEXT TO THE TIRE. (PRIMARY REASON FOR FILING THIS REPORT) JUST PRIOR TO THE EXPLOSION, MY WIFE SENSED A VIBRATION AND STOPPED TO INSPECT TIRES. NO OBVIOUS DEFECTS WERE FOUND. AFTER PROCEEDING APPROXIMATELY 1 MILE, THE INCIDENT OCCURRED. TIRE WAS RETURNED TO BF GOODIIDGE AFTER WHICH THEY CLAIMED NO RESPONSIBILITY. PICTURES OF TIRE AND VEHICLE DAMAGE AVAILABLE

ON 28 SEPTEMBER 2012 I PURCHASED A NEW 2012 FORD F250 DIESEL PICKUP FROM A FORD DEALER. ON/ABOUT 1 NOVEMBER 2012 WHILE ACCELERATING (FROM APPROXIMATELY 10 MILES PER HOUR SPEED) INTO AN INTERSTATE TRAFFIC LANE THIS VEHICLE SUDDENLY WENT INTO AN ENGINE NEAR STALL/LOSS OF POWER CONDITION WHICH LASTED APPROXIMATELY THREE TO FIVE SECONDS AND THEN REGAINED NORMAL ENGINE POWER. THIS WAS A VERY ALARMING CONDITION AS I WAS ENTERING INTO HIGH SPEED TRAFFIC AND NEEDED CAPABLE ACCELERATION WHILE ENTERING INTO TRAFFIC. THE TRUCK HAD APPROXIMATELY 450 MILES ON IT WHEN THIS FIRST OCCURRED. I TOOK THIS TRUCK BACK TO THE DEALER WHEN THE TRUCK HAD 551 MILES ON IT AND THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. WHILE DRIVING THE TRUCK ON 27 NOVEMBER 2013, THIS SAME ENGINE NEAR-STALL EVENT OCCURRED UNDER A SIMILAR HIGHWAY INGRESS CONDITION WHEN THE TRUCK HAD APPROXIMATELY 5,100 MILES ON IT. I CALLED THE FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE HOTLINE AND WAS ADVISED TO TAKE THE TRUCK TO A FORD DEALER FOR A SECOND CHECKUP. I THEN TOOK THE TRUCK TO A DIFFERENT FORD DEALER ON 6 JANUARY 2014 WHEN THE TRUCK HAD 5,510 MILES ON IT AND THEY COULD NOT FIND THE PROBLEM. NEITHER OF THE TWO FORD DEALERS THAT I'VE TAKEN THE TRUCK TO FOR DIAGNOSIS WILL PROVIDE ME WITH A FURTHER COURSE OF ACTION TO FIX THIS RECURRING ENGINE MALFUNCTION. I WANT THIS MALFUNCTION FIXED OR A NEW PICKUP TO REPLACE IT, IT CREATES A PERSONAL SAFETY HAZARD FOR ME AND MY FAMILY AND THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN IN THE TRUCK FROM WHEN IT WAS ONLY A MONTH OLD AND HAD 450 MILES ON IT. *TR

TWO DIFFERENT PROBLEMS: FIRST I WAS LEFT STRANDED ABOUT 2 1/2 HOURS AWAY FROM HOME BECAUSE OF A SIMPLE EGT SENSOR DEFECT SHUT DOWN MY TRUCK. HAD TO PAY A TOWER $350 TO DRIVE MY TRUCK TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY TELL ME IT WAS A LITTLE SENSOR THAT LEFT ME STRANDED. THIS TYPE THING SHOULDN'T HAPPEN WHEN YOU PAY $60,000 PLUS FOR A VEHICLE. NOW MONTHS LATER I HAVE ANOTHER ISSUE THAT FROM ALL THE BLOGS SAY IS A PROBLEM MOST 2012 MODELS HAVE CALLED THE "DEATH WOBBLE". IT IS NOW HAPPENING AT LEAST ONCE ON EVERY DRIVE I MAKE. I HAVE HAD OVER 8 SITUATIONS WHERE I HAVE HAD TO SLAM ON BREAKS TO MAKE THE VIBRATION STOP AND THE CAR BEHIND ME ALMOST SLAM INTO THE BACK OF MY TRUCK. BECAUSE ONCE THE WOBBLING STARTS YOU HAVE TO COME TO ALMOST A COMPLETE STOP BEFORE THE WOBBLING WILL STOP. MY WIFE NOW REFUSES TO DRIVE MY TRUCK BECAUSE SHE IS SCARED TO DEATH TO DRIVE IT. I DON'T EVEN LIKE TO DRIVE IT, BUT IT'S NECESSARY BECAUSE IT IS THE ONLY VEHICLE I HAVE TO DRIVE. I AM AT THE POINT OF WANTING TO TRADE IT, BUT WHAT KIND OF TRADE IN AM I GOING TO GET WITH THIS PROBLEM HAPPENING. MY 2012 JUST HAS A LITTLE MORE THAN 40,000 MILES, NOT VERY MUCH WHEN YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT A DIESEL ENGINE. IT IS HAPPENING MORE OFTEN NOW THAN BEFORE, AND I FELL IT WILL JUST CONTINUE TO HAPPEN MORE. NO ONE IN MY FAMILY WANTS TO DRIVE OR RIDE WITH ME IN MY TRUCK ANYMORE. IT SEEMS AS THOUGH FORD IS REFUSING TO ADMIT THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM ON EVERY ONLINE SITE I GO TOO, I ASSUME IT WILL TAKE A FEW PEOPLE GETTING KILLED BEFORE THEY REALIZE THERE IS A PROBLEM. WHAT ARE OWNERS TO DUE WITH THIS, BECAUSE IF WE TRADE THE TRUCK KNOW ONE IS GOING TO WANT TO BUY IT. SO ONCE AGAIN THE CONSUMER GETS SHAFTED. NHTSA WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU TO HELP US WITH THIS PROBLEM BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED. PLEASE HELP US WITH THIS PROBLEM! PLEASE!!!!!!

INTERIOR LIGHTS DO NOT COME ON WHEN DOOR IS OPENED, ONLY CAN BE MANUALLY TURNED ON. THE CARGO LIGHTS AND HIGH BRAKE LIKE NO LONGER WORK AS WELL WHICH IS A SAFETY ISSUE WITH THE CENTER HIGH BRAKE LIGHT. TURNS OUT A LOT OF 2012 F250 OWNERS ARE COMPLAINING OF THE SAME ISSUE AND IT'S CAUSED BY THE BCM. BODY CONTROL MODULE. IT APPEARS THAT A DESIGN FLAW LETS WATER DRIP ON THE MODULE WHICH EVENTUALLY MAKES IT NO LONGER OPERATE AS EXPLAINED BY SEVERAL REPAIR SHOPS I'VE CONTACTED. THE 2011 F250 HAS A RECALL FOR THIS SAME PROBLEM.

I BOUGHT A USED 2012 F250 FOUR WHEEL DRIVE THAT HAD NO DOME, CARGO, OR MAP LIGHTS BUT EVERYTHING ELSE WORKED NORMAL. AFTER REPLACING BULBS, DIMMER SWITCH, AND CHECKING ALL FUSES I TOOK IN TO MY FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY FOUND THAT DUE TO MOISTURE IN THE CAB, IT BURNED OUT THE BODY CONTROL MODULE AKA BCM. RUMOR HAS IT THAT THESE TRUCKS LEAK WATER FROM WINDSHIELD OR FIREWALL. I PAID 650 TO HAVE IT REPLACED.

I GOT ON THE HIGHWAY AND WAS DOING A TURNAROUND WHEN I ACCELERATED TO ENTER THE HIGHWAY LANES A WARNING LIGHT THAT SAID REDUCED ENGINE POWER APPEARED ON MY DASH. APPROXIMATELY 200' LATER MY TRUCK DIED ON THE HIGHWAY. MY HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP WENT OUT AND APPARENTLY DISINTEGRATED SENDING ALUMINUM SHAVINGS THROUGHOUT MY ENTIRE FUEL SYSTEM. THE FIX IS TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE FUEL SYSTEM AT A COST OF $11,200. THE FORD COMPANY IS CLAIMING THE FUEL WAS CONTAMINATED AND CAUSED THE PUMP TO RUST AND GO OUT. I HAVE NEVER GOT A WATER IN FUEL WARNING LIGHT ON MY TRUCK AND HAVE HAD ALL THE REQUIRED MAINTENANCE DONE ON THE TRUCK. THE INSURANCE COMPANY HAD A LAB DO A SAMPLE OF THE FUEL IN MY TRUCK AND THE FUEL MET ALL THE ASTM REQUIREMENTS. *TR
