Terms of Service

You must be at least 13 years old to use the site. If you're under 18, you need a parent or guardian's permission to create an account.

The site shows general information to help you research trucks: recalls, complaints and ratings from the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), maintenance schedules from manufacturers' manuals, specifications, and our own notes that summarize what owners report. Please keep in mind:

• NHTSA complaints are reports from owners and aren't verified. A truck with many complaints isn't necessarily bad, and one with few isn't necessarily good.
• Owner notes describe common patterns, not the condition of any one truck.
• Information can be out of date, incomplete or wrong. Always check your owner's manual, the manufacturer, a dealer or NHTSA for anything important, especially recalls and maintenance.
• Truck values come from Kelley Blue Book, which you look up and enter yourself. We don't estimate prices.

Nothing on the site is mechanical, legal, financial or safety advice. Always have a used truck inspected by a qualified mechanic before you buy it, and make your own decisions about buying, repairing and maintaining a vehicle.

Keep your sign-in details private. You're responsible for what happens in your account. Tell us through the contact form if you think someone else has used it.

The truck details, records, notes and photos you add stay yours. You give us permission to store, process and show them to you so My Garage works. We don't make them public.

Only upload things you have the right to share. Don't upload:

• other people's personal information, such as names, phone numbers or addresses
• anything illegal, harmful, hateful or sexually explicit
• photos or files you don't own or have permission to use
• viruses or anything meant to harm the site or other people

Keep your own copies of anything important, like receipts. We may remove content that breaks these terms.

Please don't:

• copy large parts of the site, or collect its data with bots, scrapers or other automated tools
• try to overload, break into or get around the limits and security of the site
• use the contact form to send spam or abuse
• use the site for anything illegal, or to mislead or harm others
• pretend to be someone else or to be connected with us

The site's design, writing (including owner notes and checklists), logo and code belong to us. You can use them for your own personal, non-commercial truck research, and you can share links to any page. Government data such as NHTSA records belongs to the public. Truck and brand names belong to their owners, and we use them only to identify vehicles. We aren't affiliated with or endorsed by NHTSA, Kelley Blue Book or any truck maker.

The site links to other websites and may show ads. Some parts links are Amazon affiliate links, which can earn us a small commission at no cost to you. We don't control other websites, products or sellers and aren't responsible for them. Your purchases and use of other sites are between you and them.

The site is free, and we may change, add or remove features at any time. If we plan to shut down My Garage, we'll try to give account holders at least 30 days' notice so they can save their information.

You can stop using the site at any time and ask us to delete your account (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the site or other people at risk.

The site and all information on it are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise that the site will always be available, error-free or secure, or that information on it is correct or up to date.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we won't be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost money, profits, data or vehicle value, arising from your use of the site or any decision you make based on it, including buying, selling, repairing or maintaining a vehicle. Our total responsibility for any claim about the site is limited to $100.

Some places don't allow these limits, so some of them may not apply to you.

If someone makes a claim against us because you broke these terms or the law, or because of content you uploaded, you agree to cover our reasonable costs and losses from that claim.

If you have a problem with the site, please contact us first. Most problems can be fixed quickly that way. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that can't be settled informally will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Texas, and both sides agree to those courts. Either side may use small claims court instead if the claim qualifies.

We may update these terms. When we do, we'll change the date at the top, and for significant changes we'll show a notice on the site or email account holders. If you keep using the site after a change takes effect, you accept the new terms.

These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the site. If part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a part right away, we can still enforce it later. You can't transfer your rights under these terms to someone else. We can transfer ours if the site is sold or transferred.
