2017 Ford F-350 Super Duty
Recalls and owner complaints reported to NHTSA
Compared with the typical (middle) count of 245 complaints across the 8 model-year 2017 heavy-duty trucks we cover. Best-selling trucks naturally collect more complaints because more of them are on the road.
What owners should know
Covers 2017–2019 · 6.7L Power Stroke diesel and 6.2L V8 gas · Updated 2026-10-01
The 2017 Super Duty got an aluminum body on a new steel frame. Engines are the 6.7L Power Stroke diesel and the 6.2L V8 gas.
We counted 3,942 owner complaints filed with NHTSA for 2017–2019 F-250s and F-350s: 2,905 from diesel trucks and 970 from gas trucks (identified by VIN). Complaint counts show what owners report most often, not how many trucks have a problem.
At a glance
- Front-end shake ("death wobble") dominates: more than half of all complaints (over 2,000), on both diesel and gas trucks.
- The high-pressure fuel pump (CP4.2) is still the most expensive known diesel failure.
- Several recalls cover tailgates, driveshafts, block heaters and rear cameras. Check that they were done.
Front-end shake ("death wobble")
1,532 diesel complaints and 542 gas complaints describe a violent front-end shake, usually after a bump at highway speed. That's the highest share of any truck generation we cover. Owners filed a class-action lawsuit over it in 2019. No recall has been issued, so the fix is up to the owner.
Owners and front-end shops most often report lasting fixes from replacing worn parts, especially the track bar, ball joints and tie rods, and checking alignment. A new steering stabilizer alone frequently only hides it.
When buying: ask whether the shake has ever happened and what was replaced. Have a helper rock the steering wheel with the engine running while you watch the track bar ends. Hit bumps at 50–70 mph on the test drive. A truck with a documented front-end rebuild can be a safer bet than one that's never been touched.
6.7L diesel
- High-pressure fuel pump (CP4.2): when it fails, metal can contaminate the whole fuel system, with repairs commonly reported at $8,000 or more. Ford's 2024 CP4 recall covers 2020–2022 trucks, not 2017–2019. Ask for fuel filter records and whether the pump was replaced.
- Other commonly reported repairs: EGR cooler clogging, exhaust temperature sensors, radiator leaks, and the plastic intercooler pipe cracking under boost.
Recalls to check on these years
- Tailgate may open by itself (water shorting the electric release switch, recall 19V864000)
- Driveshaft may fracture on 2017–2018 4x4s (recall 22V880000), and on gas trucks with aluminum driveshafts (recall 22V087000)
- Engine block heater cord may short and overheat (recalls 18V894000 and 19V278000)
- 2019 4x4 front axle weld problem (recall 20V576000) and 2019 rear axle shaft on trucks with a locking rear differential (recall 19V688000)
- Several rear camera recalls
Body and rust
The aluminum body doesn't rust like steel, but check where steel and aluminum meet, along with the steel frame and brake lines.

Front-end shake (death wobble)
Moderate DIYSigns: Violent shaking of the steering wheel and front end after hitting a bump, usually at 45+ mph. Slowing down hard is often the only way to stop it.
Fix: Find and replace the worn parts, most often the track bar or its bushings, then check ball joints, tie rod ends, the drag link and alignment. A new steering stabilizer alone usually only hides the problem.
High-pressure fuel pump (CP4) failure
Easy DIYSigns: Sudden stalling or no-start, low fuel pressure codes, metal in the fuel filter. Often there's little warning.
Fix: Prevention is the fix you can do: change both fuel filters on schedule, drain the water separator, and buy fuel from busy stations. Some owners add a kit that keeps pump debris away from the injectors. A failed pump usually means a full fuel system replacement at a diesel shop.
6.7L cracked intercooler pipe
Easy DIYSigns: A loud pop, sudden loss of power, boost or limp-mode codes.
Fix: Replace the plastic cold-side intercooler pipe. Many owners upgrade to a metal pipe.
Tailgate opens by itself
Dealer (recall)Signs: The tailgate drops open while driving or parked, often after rain or a car wash.
Fix: Covered by a Ford recall for the electric release switch.
May be covered free by recall 19V864000. Check the VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
Driveshaft failure risk
Dealer (recall)Signs: Vibration from under the truck. A failure can cause loss of drive power.
Fix: Covered by Ford recalls on certain 2017–2018 4x4s and on gas trucks with aluminum driveshafts.
May be covered free by recall 22V880000 / 22V087000. Check the VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls.

While traveling down the road a bump or dip in the road causes the front wheels begin to shake and jerk violently causing the vehicle to drift over the road and loose steering control. This situation is amplified when carrying or pulling a load and is extremely difficult to manage and stop once started. Braking exacerbates the situation resulting in almost loosing control. This has happed multiple times, multiple dates over the years, at different speeds usually over 45mph.

I experienced what is known as the “Death wobble” after contacting a bumpy road at approximately 70 mph. I was able to exit the freeway and determine that it wasn’t a blown tire or some other condition that caused this. After some research on my vehicle, I determined that this “death wobble” is fairly common with my model and year of truck.

When towing a fifth wheel trailer and going down a hill the vehicle went into an oscillation that caused sever wobbling of the front end almost causing me to lose control of the vehicle that was towing the trailer. This was the most frightening thing I have ever experienced in my life. after doing some research Ford Motor Company knows about this issue and has yet to recall this problem it is also known as the Death wobble. Is it actually going to take someone's death to see something happen about this well know issue, I certainly hope not and I hope the NHTSA will do something to force Ford Motor Company to correct this issue before someone does die from the "Death Wobble"

At differing speeds the truck experienced the "death wobble" causing the front end of the vehicle to shake uncontrollably. This happened 2 times before I had the tie rod ends replaced and several times afterward. You have to almost stop the vehicle to get the shaking to go away. It is a tremendous safety risk and could cause an accident due to the shaking or due to needing to slow almost to a stop - which could cause a rear end collision. This is a common problem with Ford F250 and F350 trucks. I had my mechanic inspect all the front end parts and he recommended replacing the tie rods and track bar. No warning lamps or other symptoms. The issue happened out of the blue.

Truck has only 70,371 mile on it and the RTM Module associated with the TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) failed and must be replaced, at owners expense. The TPMS is NHTSA mandated safety requirement. There should be specific published performance standards and expectations. Example: it is known the sensors themselves are battery operated and have an estimated battery life of 5-7 years. The RTM module is permanently mounted to the vehicle frame/body and should carry a reasonable published life expectancy.

I purchased this vehicle brand new off the lot in Feb. 2018. It is a 2017. That should have been my clue. It was a good price. One week after purchase I had to have them add air to my tires as 3 out of 6 were losing air. This continued to happen frequently. They said the valve stems(TPMS) that came on the wheels were oxidizing on the rims causing corrosion and they would replace them. They eventually replaced the outside 4 wheels with new factory rims. The same problem existed. It came to the point that I was afraid to travel with vehicle as I pull horses with a heavy trailer over mountains etc... I was afraid that the air would come out, valve stem would blow out and cause me to wreck and cause injury to myself or a vehicle next to me or my precious cargo. You can see this as I only have 23,000 miles on said vehicle. It is unsafe because of that possibility and also me having to pull over anywhere in my travels to change a tire frequently on a busy highway or mountain with a trailer attached. It still keeps happening. I have to have stems replaced again and again. It's listed on the internet and ford truck forums, as many people are having the same issue. Why doesn't Ford care enough about people to replace these rims/wheels with an after market or safer, more reliable rims/wheels. It appears that the holes in these wheels are oblong and the 2 metals are not the same and this allows the the 2 unlike metals to come in contact causing the corrosion which causes the unreliable issue of air leaking which causes unsafe proper psi in tires which also causes instability. I do not feel safe. This truck has spent many days in the shop for this unsafe issue. I can get copies of all repairs made from dealership if needed. The date listed of incident is the LAST time it was taken in for wheel repairs. I picked it up last night.

I recently replaced a defective reductant (DEF) pump and wiring harness due to corrosion. The cause and repairs were diagnosed and performed by a ford dealership. Without addressing the issue the vehicle would randomly engage a "limp" mode and limit the speed to 50 mph, forcing the driver to operate at unsafe speeds on freeways and highways. Defect is a hazard to driver and other vehicles due to the unpredictable speed control caused by the defective parts. Ford is aware of the defective part and issued a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) 23-2161.

The plastic frame holding the rear cab glass has broken causing the glass to come loose making a concern of the glass falling into cab and injuring a passenger. This has been checked by both a Ford dealership/service center and Safelite glass. Both service providers indicate that there is not a repair for this it is a complete replacement of the window. I have been informed by Safelite that they have replaced many of these because the adhesive used during manufacturing does not properly adhere to the plastic frame/rail resulting in the failure. Furthermore, the replacement window has a different design, to eliminate this problem from reoccurring.

2017 Ford F-350 with door latches that freeze. There are multiple symptoms which occur whenever the temperature drops below 32 degrees: (1) The door will not open when door handle pulled, (2) the door opens but latch sticks in the "open" position which does not allow door to latch closed, or (3) the door opens while driving due to not being fully latched. I have only had #3 happen once. Primarily, #2 is the scenario that happens most often. I am able to open the driver's door, but cannot drive the vehicle until I am able to exercise or warm up the latching mechanism enough to safely latch the door. This is accomplished by pressing the door lock/unlock switch repeatedly or slamming and holding the door, then pressing the lock button. I am told by the dealership that my VIN does not qualify for Recall 17S33. It did qualify for Customer Service Program 18N03, which was performed in 2022. However, the "fix" did not last beyond a month or so and Ford clearly states that 18N03 is a "One Time Only" repair. It seems to me that Ford knew back in 2017 (or before) they had problems with freezing door latches as this also occurs on the F150 and there have been MULTIPLE recalls that still have not fixed the issue. At best, this is annoying that a $75,000 vehicle cannot be driven until the door has been slammed, exercised, or manipulated enough times to allow the door to latch. This, of course, assume the door opens to begin with. At worst, this vehicle is a rolling deathtrap as the occupants wait for the door to suddenly open while moving. My dealer is no help. They lean on the "One Time Only" clause in 18N03. They have charged parts to my extended warranty without knowing if the part is bad or the cause of the problem, then smile as they tell me there is "no charge" to me.

For many months while attemting to slide open or tilt my sun roof the sun roof would jamb and not move. Then one day after I was able to get my sunroof into the tilted up position I was unable to get it to re turn down and sealed. Took my Vehicle to the FORD dealer near me where they confirmed that the sun roof track had been severely damaged and would need to have the entire frame rail replaced at a cost of $6,000+. Upon researching online I have come to find out that many of Ford vehicles equiped with the panoramic sunroof have had this exact same problem and the primary cause of the problem was substandard plastic material being used in the track/frame design that fractures easily and jambs and breaks sunroof components. Because of this problem I was unable to close my sunroof subjecting my vehicle to water damages and forceing me to have the dealer fix it to avoid water damage at an exorbenant cost.

I am filing this complaint regarding my Ford F-350, VIN [XXX], which caught fire on XXX. The truck had approximately 130,000 miles, which I consider low mileage for a properly maintained diesel Ford F-350. These trucks are known for long service life, and many Ford diesel trucks routinely remain in service for 20 years or more and exceed 250,000 miles when properly maintained. For that reason, I did not expect a sudden and catastrophic fire in a truck with only 130,000 miles. While driving, passing motorists alerted us the truck was on fire. The fire appeared to originate in the engine compartment and spread extremely rapidly. Within a very short period, the front of the truck was engulfed in flames and sustained catastrophic damage. Based on the speed and severity of the fire, I am concerned a failure in the engine compartment, fuel system, electrical system, or another vehicle component may have caused or contributed to the fire. This truck has been well maintained, kept clean, and responsibly cared for. I followed the manufacturer’s maintenance guidelines and did not expect a sudden engine-compartment fire. After the fire, I found reports of other F-350 fires and references to fire-related complaints and investigations. This raises serious concerns Ford may have known of a potential fire risk involving these trucks. This incident created major safety hazard not only to the occupants of the truck, but to other motorists and anyone nearby. Had passing drivers not alerted us, the outcome could have been far worse. The severity of the fire required a major emergency response, including multiple fire trucks and police. A vehicle fire of this magnitude presents an obvious risk of serious injury or death. I request NHTSA investigate Ford F-350 and vehicle fire incidents to determine whether a defect involving the fuel system, electrical system, or related parts may cause these trucks to catch fire without warning. While driving a 2017 Ford F-350 Super Duty Dually (6.7L Power Stroke) at highway speeds while towing a horse trailer containing live animals, a sudden and catastrophic failure of the secondary fuel filter occurred. The driver noticed a severe and sudden drop in fuel economy, accompanied by a strong diesel odor inside the cabin.Upon arriving safely at our destination, an inspection of the engine compartment revealed that the top plastic cap of the OEM secondary fuel filter housing had completely cracked right in the top middle. Diesel fuel was actively spraying out under extreme low-pressure system pressure (approximately 8.5 bar) all over the hot engine compartment. The pressurized diesel fuel completely saturated the front hood insulation liner, soaked the entire engine, coated the undercarriage, front left tire, all four rear dually tires, the truck bed, and the entire front face of the horse trailer. The fuel exposure has already caused multiple rubber gaskets and body-to-hood weatherstripping seals at the rear of the engine compartment to swell and degrade. This massive, pressurized fuel leak created an imminent, severe risk of a catastrophic engine fire while the vehicle was traveling at speed with a heavy load. The truck wasted roughly an entire 40-gallon tank of fuel (over $175 in extra fuel costs) during the transit due to the severity of the leak. This vehicle is a direct match for the vehicle and component population currently under active NHTSA Investigation PE24014. The Allevard Sogefi USA plastic fuel filter housing failed exactly as described in the federal probe due to over-pressurization. I have retained the defective cracked filter, photographic proof of the failure and subsequent vehicle/trailer damage, and fuel receipts as evidence.

This truck had a complete fuel system replaced already once when it failed while the customer was driving. We are the next owners and didn't know it had this major failure before purchase. We know this fuel pump is an issue and Ford has active law suits against them as these pumps that they continue to put even in the new Fords and all other makes of trucks are blowing up daily. Ford sees it as a revenue stream to keep their shops busy. Fuel is highly flammable and we tow a travel trailer. I would hate to see something bad happen because they won't issue a recall. There several years that are under recall currently and our year is not one of them but it has the same pump. They should not only issue recalls on all trucks that have the known failing CP4 pump, but also give the customers the option to upgrade with the after market DCR pump. The one pump that has been the #1 best replacement option. Installing a new CP4 pump only buys Ford mote time to next failure and keeps their ships full. We spent 50k on this truck. Again, it already happened once! Let's be sure to issue recalls on ALL trucks with CP4 pumps with a real solution and not just another dangerous CP4. We don't want our truck to catch on fire while driving. Its a very big safety concern!

While driving my 2017 Ford F-350 equipped with the 6R140 transmission, the vehicle experienced a sudden and complete transmission failure due to a valve body malfunction. Without warning, the transmission lost all ability to engage gears, resulting in an immediate loss of power and drivability. This failure occurred while the vehicle was in motion, presenting a serious safety risk to both occupants and other motorists — especially in high-speed or high-traffic situations. The risk is further compounded when the vehicle is towing, as it may increase stopping distance, reduce control, and leave the driver stranded in unsafe conditions. This type of failure appears to be part of a broader pattern affecting this transmission platform, which raises significant concerns about its reliability and safe operation under normal usage. There were warning lights or other symptoms prior to the failure. The damage has since been remedied, with an astounding out of pocket cost of $8,300 for a total transmission rebuild.

2017 Ford F350 Superduty 6.7L diesel will intermittently surge/buck while towing uphill under load causing loss of power and creating unsafe driving situation. When it happens I’ve also observed electrical power loss to OBD-II port where I have accessory guage installed to monitor critical truck systems like oil temp, trans temp, coolant temp, etc.. No DTC or fault codes are generated when this happens. I haven’t taken to dealer yet but I’ve researched and read lots of truck forums where multiple Ford owners have had the same issue. When they’ve taken their truck to the dealer they’ve been told this is “normal”. I don’t agree and believe this is a serious safety issue to a consumer that suddenly loses all power and must let off all acceleration while other cars are following/around vehicle when vehicle surges. This has now happened four different times and various speeds (30-60 mph).

Truck started doing the death wobble when hitting brakes and sometimes when hitting bumps in the road. Death wobble was very violent and last for a few seconds each time before we could get vehicle stopped. I made my local ford dealer aware of my problem and they inspected it and said it was related to the drive shaft recall. I made the earliesr appointment which was a couple weeks later. I dropped my vehicle off and they said that due to this recall malfunction it had caused damage to my tie rods and drag lengths and those parts needed to be replaced. They said their damage was directly correlated to the drive shaft recall however I would have to pay out of pocket for that to be fixed ($1400). They have had my vehicle for a week and fixed the tire rods and drag lengths but do not have the part for the drive shaft recall. They have no time line for when they will be able to get the part and told me I may come get my vehicle and use it while I wait for the part but I have to sign a waiver stating that it's dangerous to drive. They refuse to give me a loaner vehicle if I would opt to leave my vehicle there while we wait for the part. I'm currently trapped in Texas with 2 horses and can't get back home to Pennsylvania because my vehicle is unsafe to haul the horses back 26 hours.

I have a 2017 F-350 SuperDuty with the Engine Block Heater option, two recalls have been issued related to a condition that can cause overheating of the power cord with the possibility of a fire. Recall 18V-894 and 19V-278 have both been applied and verified by Ford Customer Service. During the recent cold weather in the Houston, Texas area, the engine block heater was used to keep the engine warm to assist with starting. When I disconnected the power cord the was hot enough to have melted the plug to the point where the blades in the plug were loose and I had to use gloves to separate the engine heater cord from the extension cord. This should have been fixed under one or both of the previous recalls. It represents an electrical hazard that could lead to fire and loss of property. I asked Ford to remedy the situation under case XXX and they have declined to resolve the hazard. Please review this case and have Ford issue a third recall to remedy this safety issue. When you start the vehicle the brake pedal falls to the floor and you can not stop it. Also at a stop the brake pedal slowly falls to the floor. According to the dealer they don’t know what causes this and it still does it. They said no ABS lights came on so this is normal. I don’t think it’s normal if I put it in reverse and can not get it to stop because the pedal recedes out of my reach. The truck kept going in reverse the brakes wouldn’t stop it.

Now at current servicing the problem is re-occuring. The service tech is now attempting to re-charge me to diagnose and repair. I'm simply asking to verify if there was ever any recall related to this vehicle in the past to support my issue

Released parking brake, placed vehicle in drive and began to move forward, after moving roughly 30ft, the rear tires locked up and the vehicle skid to a stop. Repeated attempts to move the vehicle forward or backwards were unsuccessful. Lifted the rear of the vehicle, removed the rear tires and rotors and found all the parking brake pads completely delaminated (separated) from the shoes (on both sides of the vehicle). 3 out of the 4 linings were also broke. Components are available for inspection. Luckily this occurred in my driveway at slow speeds. Not confirmed by dealer, could not move the vehicle out of my driveway, removed rotors myself. No other individuals have inspected the vehicle. There were no warnings from the vehicle systems.

The contact owns a 2017 Ford F-350 equipped with Goodyear Tires, Tire Line: Wrangler All Terrain Adventure, Tire Size: LT275/70/R18, DOT Number: (N/A). While the contact's friend was driving 55 MPH, there was a blowout of the rear passenger’s side tire. The driver prevented a crash; however, the failure caused a significant amount of damage when the truck bed lowered and nearly separated from the chassis, the hubcap detached, and the exhaust pipe was bent in half. The driver pulled over to a truck stop and installed the spare and secured the truck bed to the frame with harness straps to prevent the truck bed from separating. The contact notified the manufacturer about the failure and requested that the tire be shipped for inspection to determine any potential liability. The contact had not yet submitted the tire or any documentation to the manufacturer. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000.

Factory Ford 20” wheels with Factory Installed Michelin 275/65 R20 LTX A/T2 tires. Tires have just under 30,000 miles on them and still have more than 50% tread. Tread wear is even. Tires have been rotated. Truck has 73,000 miles but had different wheels and tires for first 43,000 miles. I stored these wheels and tires inside climate controlled building. When my aftermarket tires wore out, I put these back on. They had 10 miles on them when I took them off. I have had them on since April 2022. On Friday June 5th, 2026 I was traveling about 60 MPH and had a catastrophic blow-out of the passenger side rear tire. The tires blew completely apart and the wheel hit the ground and the back side of the wheel broke off, before I could get over to the side of the road the tire beat the bed and running board to pieces and even damaged the exhaust and bumper. The wheel was ruined. Thousands of dollars in damage. All the tires are in good condition, not dry rotted, no cracks, the truck has been indoors in a garage. They hold air. TMPS works and I check my pressure all the time. I had just set the air pressure early that morning before leaving. The tires are less than 10 years old which is the date for replacement. They have more than half their tread. No cracks. They hold pressure perfectly. They are worn evenly. No reason for the tire to have blown out other than a manufacturing defect. When I got stopped there was a huge hole in tire and no tread on it at all.

Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure, LT275/70R18 Tire installed new on [XXX] at 79892 miles. Tires were properly maintained including proper inflation and rotated. On [XXX] at 112745 miles the driver side rear tire suffered a sudden and catastrophic tread separation failure. At the time of failure, tire had been in service for 33 months and 32,853 miles, and had significant tread life remaining. Vehicle was travelling at approximately 55 mph on an asphalt highway on a hot, dry day. The separated tread damaged the rear body panel and severed the body structural support member in half. The vehicle was brought to a controlled stop, the separated tread was retrieved from the roadway, and the spare tire was installed. The tire was replaced the following day. Given that the tire was only about 50-60% into its usable life and well within the 50,000 mile warranty, this failure was unexpected. Goodyear has not provided any method to contact them directly and instead referred me to local retailers who have been unable to process the warranty claim. A second, much newer tire of the same model on the same vehicle failed in a different manner just 3 weeks and 1000 miles later, causing me concern of structural or material defects with these tires. Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure, LT265/70R18. On [XXX] at 113806 miles, I discovered that the driver's side front tire on the vehicle was flat in my driveway. Investigation revealed a puncture in the tread of the tire, caused by a gravel stone still lodged in the tire. Based on the amount of protrusion of the stone and the lack of any visible wear on it, I concluded that the stone must have originated in my gravel driveway when returning home the night before. The tire had been installed on 6/20/2023 at 104513.5 miles, being in service for 1 year and 9293 miles, not even 20% into its expected life. Initial assessment of the damage to the tire, including the puncture size and longitudinal shape, suggests that repair will not be feasible and the tire will require replacement. While a flat tire due to foreign objects is commonplace, the safety concern here is that a simple small stone from a gravel driveway should not have been able to cause the failure of a 'Kevlar reinforced' all-terrain truck tire. I believe the materials or construction of these tires may be defective and may have insufficient tensile strength in the tread material, causing them to yield and fail at much lower forces than are to be expected from tires in highway use. At any rate a well-packed gravel driveway that has been in use for many years should not be a challenge to the safety and performance of a truck tire rated for highway use. This tire failure comes less than a month and 1000 miles after a more dramatic and catastrophic failure of another tire of the same model on the same vehicle. While coincidence cannot be ruled out, two failures of the same model tire, both related to weak or defective tread sections, points to possible defects that should be investigated. BRAKING IS POSSIBLE AND WILL SLOW TO IDLE RPMS SAFELY, BUT IF INCREASED AGAIN WITH FOOT ON ACCELERATOR TO 1500-1800 RPMS, SYMPTOM WILL REPEAT UNTIL WARMED UP THRESHOLD HAS BEEN REACHED. THIS IS BETWEEN 3-5 MINUTES AFTER COLD START. ALL IS NORMAL AFTER THIS TIME AND VEHICLE WILL NOT INCREASE IN SPEED BY ITSELF. IF VEHICLE SITS FOR 2-3 HRS, SYMPTOM CAN BE REPEATED. OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE DOES NOT SEEM TO PLAY A FACTOR. IT IS MOST EASILY EXPERIENCED IN 4WD LO, AS THE SPEED IS LOWER, YET THE RPMS ARE THE SAME AS IN 4WD HI OR 2WD. I FIRST EXPERIENCED THIS WHEN BACKING UP (IN 'R') IN 4WD LO AFTER A COLD START AND HAD TO INCREASE SPEED AND RPMS BEYOND 1500 WHEN VEHICLE STARTING INCREASING IN SPEED BY ITSELF. WHILE DRIVING ON INTERSTATE THE SAID VEHICLE HIT A BUMP OR BAD SPOT IN THE ROAD. THE STEERING WHEEL AND FRONT OF VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHAKE AND VIBRATE EXTREMELY ERRATIC. I IMMEDIATELY HELD ON, LOOKED IN MIRRORS FOR OTHER VEHICLES AROUND ME AND HAD TO HIT THE BRAKES. THE TRUCK HAD TO SLOW DOWN AND IMMEDIATELY GET IT OFF THE ROAD WITHOUT CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. WE HAPPENED TO BE ON A 65MPH HIGHWAY. WITH HAZARD LIGHTS FLASHING WE DID MANAGE TO GET OFF THE MAIN ROAD TO THE SHOULDER. I NEW IMMEDIATELY WHAT IT WAS. MY WIFE WAS WITH ME AT THE TIME AS WELL. WE HAVE OWNED THIS TRUCK SINCE IT WAS BRAND NEW. AT 9000 MILES THE SAME THING HAPPENED. THEN AGAIN AT 16,500, 18,900, 24,440 AND THE MOST RECENT TIME IS 27,500. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN ADDRESSED 4 PRIOR TIMES. EACH TIME THEY CHANGE THE STEERING DAMPER AND I GET MY VEHICLE BACK. NOW I AM TOLD I NEED NEW TIRES, A CASTER ADJUSTMENT AND POSSIBLY ANOTHER DAMPER. SURPRISE THE DAMPERS ARE ON BACK ORDER.I'M VERY SURPRISED THERE HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL. LUCKILY I GUESS PEOPLE HAVE NOT BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED YET. THANK GOODNESS FOR THAT. THIS IS MY THIRD NEW TRUCK FROM FORD. I THINK WE HAVE CERTAINLY SPENT OUR FAIR SHARE OF MONEY WITH THEM. FIX OUR TRUCK SO WE CAN FEEL SAFE WHEN WE PULL OUR CAMPER AROUND THE COUNTRY. THAT'S WHY WE BOUGHT THIS PARTICULAR TRUCK. THANKS FOR READING OUR EXPERIENCE.
