2016 Ram 2500
Recalls and owner complaints reported to NHTSA
Compared with the typical (middle) count of 131 complaints across the 8 model-year 2016 heavy-duty trucks we cover. Best-selling trucks naturally collect more complaints because more of them are on the road.
What owners should know
Covers 2013–2018 · 6.7L Cummins diesel, 6.4L and 5.7L Hemi V8 gas · Updated 2026-10-01
In 2013, Ram added diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) to the 6.7L Cummins diesel, and in 2014 the 6.4L Hemi gas V8 joined the 5.7L Hemi. 2014 Ram 2500s also switched to coil springs in the rear.
We counted 5,984 owner complaints filed with NHTSA for 2013–2018 Ram 2500s and 3500s: 4,409 from diesel trucks, 1,154 from 6.4L Hemi trucks and 246 from 5.7L Hemi trucks (identified by VIN). Most of them are from 2017–2018 trucks, driven by the brake issue below. Complaint counts show what owners report most often, not how many trucks have a problem.
At a glance
- Anti-lock brake (ABS) unit failures on 2017–2018 trucks are the most reported problem by far, and were recalled.
- The 6.7L Cummins in these years is generally well regarded. DEF heaters, NOx sensors and EGR coolers are the commonly reported repairs.
- Steering recalls cover the drag link and track bar brackets.
- A water pump recall on 2013–2017 diesels addresses a fire risk.
2017–2018: ABS and stability control failures
Brakes come up in 1,560 diesel and 505 6.4L Hemi complaints, mostly from 2017–2018 trucks. Owners describe ABS, traction control and "service electronic brake system" warning lights. Chrysler recalled these trucks because the ABS hydraulic control unit may fail, disabling anti-lock brakes and stability control (recall 24V896000). Many complaints say replacement parts took a long time to arrive.
When buying: confirm this recall is done. Any ABS or stability control warning light on the dash is a reason to walk away or get it fixed first.
Steering and front end
- The drag link can separate if a jam nut loosens on 2013–2018 trucks (recall 19V021000).
- Track bar frame bracket welds on some 2015 trucks (recall 16V559000).
- Front-end shake is reported far less than on older Rams, but still check the track bar, tie rods and ball joints.
6.7L Cummins
Generally considered a strong engine in these years. Commonly reported repairs:
- DEF heater failures that cause reduced power, especially in cold weather, and NOx and DEF quality sensors
- EGR cooler leaks (white smoke or coolant loss)
- Turbo actuator failures at higher mileage
- A water pump recall on 2013–2017 trucks with a certain brand of pump that can leak coolant (recall 17V562000)
6.4L Hemi
Owners on Ram forums discuss camshaft and lifter failures on the 6.4L, often announced by a ticking noise. A tick can also come from broken exhaust manifold bolts, which is a much cheaper fix. Have a mechanic diagnose any tick before buying.
Other recalls
Side curtain airbag inflators on 2016–2018 trucks (recalls 25V010000 and 25V592000), power tailgate latches, and a rear camera recall on 2018 trucks.

I am reporting a transmission safety problem with my 2016 Ram 2500 Cummins that began shortly after FCA campaign U29 was performed. Before the recall work, the transmission and original solenoid were functioning normally. I had no transmission symptoms, warning lights, or transmission codes. The dealership performed U29 and replaced the transmission solenoid May 4-6, 2026. I picked the truck up May 6 at 149,091 miles. About 79 miles later, the check-engine light came on and transmission problems began. While driving, including on the interstate, the truck would suddenly jerk, the RPMs would rise quickly, and the truck would lose speed. On several occasions, traffic behind me had to react quickly to avoid hitting me. The dealership told me the solenoid installed during the U29 repair was defective and replaced it with another solenoid. The same problems continued. The truck later developed code P0871, became undriveable, and was towed back June 1. The original transmission ultimately failed. The dealership then installed a Mopar remanufactured transmission. I picked it up June 13. Within roughly 600 miles, it developed substantially identical symptoms and failure patterns, including P0870 and P0871, limp mode, and another major transmission failure. It was towed back June 24. The dealership later found the overdrive clutch had disintegrated and metal was present in the transmission fluid. The failed remanufactured transmission is now being handled under its Mopar warranty, and the dealership is looking to install a third transmission without identifying a clear reason for the repeated failures. I am concerned the same problem could happen again and believe the U29 repair, replacement parts, or another related transmission problem should be investigated.

On August 25, 2026, my 2016 Ram 2500 was parked on private property. The driver states that she placed the automatic transmission in PARK before exiting the vehicle. After she exited, the unoccupied vehicle unexpectedly began rolling and struck a tree, causing vehicle damage. No one was injured. There were no known warning lights or messages indicating a problem before the incident. The cause has not yet been determined and the vehicle has not yet been inspected for this incident. The vehicle is available for inspection. This vehicle is equipped with a steering-column-mounted automatic transmission shifter. I am concerned that the incident may involve the transmission/shift interlock/Park system. I am aware of NHTSA Recall 17V-821 (FCA T79), involving unintended rollaway in certain Ram trucks, as well as NHTSA Recall Query RQ25003 concerning reported BTSI failures in vehicles including Ram 2500 models. The NHTSA VIN lookup currently shows zero unrepaired recalls for this vehicle; however, I do not yet know whether the prior T79 recall repair was performed on this specific vehicle or when it was performed. I did call the dealership and they said possibly 0ctober 3, 2018. I am submitting this complaint because the vehicle rolled after the driver reports placing the transmission in PARK and exiting the vehicle.

Got into my truck after letting it warm up and the shifter broke out of the handle. It’s a known problem cause the design is flawed by putting so much pressure on the part. So in the end it breaks and then you can’t get your vehicle out of park or whatever gear it broke in. I was charged 718.00 for it to get fixed when I think this should be a recall or tsb.

Incident Report – Gear Shift Failure Date of Incident: 11/10/2025 Vehicle: 2016 Ram 2500 Pickup Truck VIN [XXX] Mileage: [Insert Mileage] Location: [Insert Location of Incident] Description of Incident While attempting to shift the vehicle from Park (P) into Drive (D), the shift lever suddenly went limp and lost all resistance. Upon applying slight additional pressure to engage the transmission, the shift lever snapped off completely. The gear shift bracket—the component securing the shift rod—fractured in half at the point where the shift rod inserts into the bracket. This mechanical failure rendered the vehicle inoperable and unable to be shifted out of Park. No warning lights or prior symptoms were observed before the failure. The broken part was visually inspected and confirmed to be the shifting lever bracket, consistent with Mopar part number 68470756AA. Immediate Actions Taken The vehicle was safely secured to prevent unintended movement. Engine was turned off and keys removed. Visual inspection confirmed that the shift lever bracket had broken at the rod insertion point. Tow service was arranged for transport to a repair facility. Photographs of the damaged bracket and shifter assembly were taken for documentation. Assessment This incident represents a critical component failure of the gear shift mechanism, resulting in sudden loss of control over transmission operation. The break occurred under normal shifting force, indicating a possible material or design defect in the bracket assembly. Recommended Actions File a warranty or recall inquiry with Ram/Stellantis regarding potential defects in part 68470756AA. Replace the damaged bracket with a verified OEM replacement. Inspect surrounding linkage and cable components for stress damage or misalignment. Retain the failed part for potential recall or manufacturer investigation. The vgt actuator failed the truck only has 127000 miles on it ram extended the warranty for 2015 trucks but not 2016. The part to replace it from ram has almost doubled in a years time. It is now $2170. For this part whose internal computer components have failed. The files uploaded was just for the part. I can upload the repair cost when done. I am just trying to get everyone to see how corrupt these companies are becoming. They could have saved themselves some problems if they would just paid the $3000 to fix it this is a rough estimate.

Towing my trailer with my 2016 Ram 2500, at 48,000 miles I experienced complete turbo failure in heavy traffic at highway speeds. Power was reduced to minimums causing hazardous conditions. The "check engine" light illuminated. I maintained control and eventually had the codes scanned at both a local auto parts store and Larry Miller Dodge/Ram in Sandy, Utah. The codes identified were for the turbo actuator/turbo. Larry Miller said they could replace the actuator, but I'd be back in three weeks for the turbo replacement as well. They were three weeks out for labor. I contacted a local diesel repair shop who purchased the turbo and actuator from Larry Miller Dodge Ram and had it installed in a day. Subsequent to these repairs ($5,400.00) I have learned that MOPAR issued Warranty Bulletin D-22-06, dated March 16, 2022, for the same make and model as mine, only for the year 2015. My truck was built in 2015 and the parts and computer codes for failure are identical. This published warranty bulletin issued relief of a new extended warranty of 15 years /150,000 miles for the installed turbo actuator/turbo. Since mine failed at 48,000 miles, this could be a continuation of the aforementioned issue with the stated 2015 year failures. I was lucky I didn't create a traffic accident when this turbo system failed since it was sudden and violent when the loss of power occurred without warning. I'm asking you to probe or look at the facts that the issue with these Garrett turbos are still outstanding whether Doge/Ram/Fiat/Mopar wants to include them in their campaign. The danger is real. The costs to retired people, such as myself, is consequential and devastating. It is unfair there is no way of sending queries to the manufacturers to alert them of this condition. The only way to communicate is to talk to a person in India and the communication barrier is tremendously difficult as is the chance of getting any return on the days and weeks of attempts for resolution.

the V06 Recall on this vehicle that for some reason was approved is an inadequate repair. The steering wheel is not adjustable with the "Weld Fix". Stellantis should have to replace the defective parts. My truck is not not able to be aligned 100%. The repair was done in 2019, and I have complained about this in the past once I realized what they did to "FIX" the issue for the recall. They have been no help and said that because it was and approved repair even though this should never of been a long term solution.. according to them I'm SOL and the dealership can align it but other shops are saying that you can't truly align the car and steering with that fix in place. I would hope that you put pressure on them to make this right.

This complaint is against HENDRICK CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM IN HOOVER ALABAMA misaligned solid-axle geometry and compromised tire casings triggered a violent, uncontrollable oscillation through the steering system, rendering the truck an immediate highway safety hazard. The vehicle was so dangerous to operate that it could not be driven home and remains stranded at a secondary residential location. IV. EXPEDITION OF COMPLAINT: DEALERSHIP BAD-FAITH REFUSAL Following the failure, a corporate case file was officially opened with Ram Corporate Customer Care. Upon notification of the corporate escalation, the owner/general management of Hendrick Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Hoover, AL placed a direct phone call to the consumer. During this conversation, the dealership owner explicitly and aggressively stated that the dealership would do anything they had to do to get out of fixing the mistakes made on the drag link, directly refusing to authorize a safe flatbed tow, refusing to replace the ruined, improperly welded linkage, and refusing to assume liability for the three structurally destroyed tires. REQUESTED REMEDIAL ACTIONS The complainant requests that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the Federal Trade Commission, and the Alabama Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division launch an immediate investigation into Hendrick Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram for faulty execution of federal safety mandates, reckless endangerment of motorists, and bad-faith commercial practices. The dealership must be held legally and financially accountable for: The immediate cost of a flatbed tow from the vehicle's stranded location to a certified repair facility. The complete removal of the ruined, welded steering components and the installation of Ram’s updated, factory-authorized non-welded, clamp-style drag link assembly.

To Whom It May Concern, I am requesting a no-cost replacement of the factory Uconnect 8.4 radio in my truck (VIN: [XXX]) due to daily safety-related failures that significantly affect the safe operation of my vehicle. Every day, the radio experiences a startup delay where the screen remains black and many center stack functions are unavailable. This delay often lasts 5–10 minutes before the system becomes operational. During normal driving, the radio also displays repeated “Vehicle Phone Requires Service” error messages, creating a constant distraction that takes my attention away from the road. When these issues occur, the factory backup camera is unavailable. Losing the backup camera eliminates an important safety feature intended to help prevent collisions with pedestrians, children, vehicles, and objects while reversing. Additionally, the factory navigation and GPS no longer function at all. These are not minor convenience issues—they are daily safety concerns. Safety-related features should work immediately every time the vehicle is started. A factory infotainment system that fails every day, disables the backup camera during startup, and repeatedly distracts the driver while the vehicle is in motion presents an unacceptable safety risk. Because these failures occur daily and involve factory-installed safety equipment, I believe Stellantis should replace the defective Uconnect radio at no cost. I respectfully request that this complaint be documented and that a no-cost replacement be authorized. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.

The grab handle or left interior a arm part broke and fell of in my lap while I was driving luckily it did not fall off when I entered the vehicle or I would have been flat on my back. I contacted Stelantis got the typical run around. Tried to order new part but part has been discontinued. Now I am driving with airbag not covered and exposed. The part number for my truck is 5RM911XAC you can check discontinued. I ask Stelantis to find part after I tried for months to no avail. Reply was sorry part discontinued. What broke was the plastic that holds two screws in. Hopefully no one gets hurt if others break. In my opinion it seems like a bad design to save money. The replacement part by the way is $313.00 for plastic with leather wrapped handle. I was willing to spend that but the attitude I got from Stelantis was very non caring after I spent $60,000 on a truck in 2016. I ordered this part in May of 2025 then in August they told me it was discontinued.

The complete financial reimbursement or replacement of three (3) structural tires destroyed as a direct consequence of the failed recall execution.

I received an NHTSA recall notice V06/NHTSA 19V-021 on or about April 2023, I brought this vehicle to Stat Line Jeep Dodge RAM located in Somerset, MA early April to fix the vehicle pursuant to the recall notice for a Drag Link problem/defect. Upon arrival the service department stated they had not received a welding machine necessary to fix the problem and to call for another appointment, On or about April 10, 2023, I again brought the vehicle to State Line RAM dealership to complete the repair. On May 31, 2023, I brought the vehicle to Town Fair Tire Center to have all 4 new tires replaced and have the front end aligned. I was told that the alignment could not take place since the dealership welded the "Tie Rods" together. I brought the vehicle back to State Line dealership and asked why my vehicle's tie rods were welded. They told me that the NHTSA had told them that was the fix. I wanted to know how to get the vehicle aligned and the dealership told me that I would have to pay $850.00 to replace them and that should have been done except the NHTSA said to weld them together.

Right rear air bag twisted and got against the exhaust which caused the vehicles suspension to drop or not hold air. I was told it was the compressor leaking through and had compressor replaced. It is not the compressor and the vehicle right rear suspension continues to loose air. When the vehicle was looked at again the airbag was untwisted and had a burn mark from exhaust. This is definitely a safety issue concern! This has been ongoing since 2017 with no recall on this vehicle. I had it in the shop again for the same thing and was told this issue could not be resolved!

In 2020, Dodge repaired a recall by welding the steering linkage nut to the drag link. This recall (V06) prohibits me to have the vehicle aligned by a tire repair/replacement shop. Additionally, the ability to align the vehicle relies on the dealer to break the weld, replace the nut and re-weld the part. This repetitive process in turn causes metal fatigue to the drive link, presenting another MAJOR safety concern. If the drive link were to fail, I would lose steering control and crash without warning. I have contacted Dodge directly and requested they replace the drive link on my vehicle to remedy this problem, however, they have refused. The cost to replace the drive link and re-align the vehicle (required after part replacement) is approximately $1,100. Much less money than would be paid out for a catastrophic fatality(ies) resulting from the failure of this part.

My 2016 RAM has very loose steering and has almost caused me an accident several times due to my lack of control of the steering. The steering stabilizer jam nuts have been welded to the adjuster sleeve (as the referenced recalls below suggest as a fix) but the entire assembly rotates freely by hand! I am constantly having to get alignments to help control my steering, however, it seems to be getting worse and I am having to do alignments more often. Now, recall numbers 19V021000 and 18E096000 both refer to this problem for select RAM 2500s however, for some reason my VIN is not connected to this recall although it is obvious that it has been implemented on my truck. I bought my truck in 2018 used from a dealership. All the recalls that were indicated on my truck at the time were implemented, but so was the welding of the jam nuts even though my VIN doesn't reflect this recall action. I have an appointment with my Chrysler dealership this Thursday, but they told me that there probably wasn't much that they could do without the recall being attached to my VIN. This is currently my only vehicle and I am cautious and scared every time I drive it now since there is no warning as to when the steering loosens up and the truck seems to drive diagonally vice straight. I would greatly appreciate some help in this matter.

Plastic debris was found on top of the valve cover, battery, radiator, exhaust manifold. This problem has been reported by numerus online forms. DRIVER'S SEAT BELT BUCKLE RELEASES THE SEAT BELT WITHOUT BEING TOUCHED. I TUG ON THE BELT EVERY TIME I LATCH IT BECAUSE OF THIS BUT IT STILL RELEASES THE BELT AFTERWARDS ABOUT 30% OF THE TIME, USUALLY JUST AFTER PULLING AWAY FROM THE PARKING SPOT. I BOUGHT THE TRUCK WITH 48, 000 MILES ON IT AND ALMOST 1 YEAR OLD. IT HAS DONE THIS SINCE I FIRST BOUGHT IT.

Truck started shaking like a tire was out of round. Right front tire had separation (several large bubbles on the inside of the tire). I replaced that tire with a spare of a different brand. About 2 weeks later the left rear tire had the same issue. These tires are less than 1 year old and have less then 15,000 miles. I do not trust these tires any more and replaced them at significant cost.

Kearney St., Springfield, MO., 65803 regarding Safety Recalls that Corwin Chrysler Dodge fraudulently checked off in the system as fixed, but they were not fixed. Case# [XXX] was assigned to the complaint. Keith is the assigned CS Manager and can be reached at 844-378-0575, ext: 3124. Keith informed us today that his hands are tied at this time and he doesn't have the authority to uncheck the safety recalls in the system that would be up to the dealership Corwin Chrysler Dodge in Springfield, MO. As of today, January 15, 2025, we still do not have resolution to this issue. We were informed to reach out to James River Dodge RAM, Ozark, Missouri. List of recalls below that we are aware that were completed by Corwin Chrysler Dodge of Springfield, Missouri. 1. Water Pump Recall T51 (Corwin Chrysler Dodge completed) 2. New Tailgate Latch U74 (Corwin Chrysler Dodge completed) We spoke to David, Service Manager, on 10/25/2024 and was informed since the system shows everything regarding the safety recalls for this vehicle are checked off in the system as fixed by Corwin Chrysler as completed. David told us that the safety recalls in the system that are showing fixed would need to be unchecked in the system in order for his team to recheck all the recalls on this vehicle and get paid for the service, because Corwin was paid for fixing the safety recalls when they checked them off in the system. 1. Steering - Drag Linkage Welded V06 (James River Chrysler could visibly see this was completed (10/25/2024) 2. PURCHASED 2016 DODGE RAM 2500 LARAMIE, MEGA CAB - NOTICEABLE VIBRATION AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS BETWEEN 60-80MPH - AT CERTAIN SPEEDS IT'S CONSTANT, AT OTHER SPEEDS IT'S INTERMITTENT. NOTIFIED DEALERSHIP WHO SUGGESTED BALANCING TIRES, ROAD FORCING TIRES, ETC BEFORE BRINGING IT IN FOR WARRANTY SERVICE. TOOK THE TRUCK TO SEVERAL TIRE SHOPS TO HAVE THE TIRES BALANCED, ROAD FORCED, CHANGED OUT FOR DIFFERENT TIRES, ETC. NOTHING RELATED TO TIRES "FIXED" THE ISSUE. BROUGHT TRUCK BACK TO DEALER FOR WARRANTY SERVICE, THEY REPLACED TWO TIRES THAT WERE (SUPPOSEDLY) "BAD" AND RETURNED THE TRUCK TO ME. ISSUE WAS NOT RESOLVED. RETURNED THE TRUCK FOR WARRANTY SERVICE AND REPORTED THE ISSUE TO FIAT CHRYSLER THE DEALERSHIP CHANGED OUT THE DRIVE SHAFT AND RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO ME INDICATING THAT THERE WAS NOTHING MORE THEY COULD DO AND THAT ANY REMAINING VIBRATION COULD NOT BE "FIXED." DROVE THE TRUCK HOME AND FELT THE VIBRATION. CONTINUED DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS INCREASES THE VIBRATION. ONLY WAY TO "ELIMINATE" THE VIBRATION IS TO DRIVE AT 10 MILES BELOW OR ABOVE THE SPEED LIMIT ON THE INTERSTATE (NEITHER OF WHICH IS SAFE, IN MY OPINION).

I'M HAVING PROBLEMS WITH TRYING TO FIND TIRES THAT A) RIDE WELL, AND B) LOOK GOOD TO ACCOMMODATE THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORS. IN THIS TRUCK THE WARNING LIGHT IS SET SO HIGH THAT I HAVE TO KEEP 80 PSI IN THE TIRES. THE DEALER SAYS IT'S A REQUIREMENT BY THE NHTSA. ARE WE (CONSUMERS) STUCK WITH THIS PROBLEM, OR IS THERE SOME KIND OF "FIX" THAT WOULD ALLOW THE DEALER TO ADJUST THE WARNING DOWN TO SOMETHING LIKE 45 PSI? THANKS FOR YOUR TIME.

MY 2016 RAM 1500 ALMOST KILLED ME THIS MORNING. TRUCK HAS 4,000 MILES ON IT. AT 4 AM I WAS DRIVING ON I-10 EAST BOUND 170 MILES FROM PENSACOLA. CRUISE WAS SET AT 78 AND I WAS IN THE PASSING LANE. THE ROAD WAS PITCH BLACK. WITHOUT ANY WARNING THE ENGINE LOST POWER AND ALL ELECTRICAL. HEADLIGHTS WENT DARK DASH BOARD, ETC. NEEDLESS TO SAY I WAS PANICKED AND MANAGED SOMEHOW TO MAKE IT TO THE RIGHT SHOULDER. AFTER GETTING TO THE SHOULDER EMERGENCY FLASHERS WOULD NOT WORK EVERYTHING WAS DEAD. JUST AS I WAS CONSIDERING GETTING OUT OF THE VEHICLE POWER CAME BACK ON. I PUT ON FLASHERS AND AFTER I CALMED DOWN RETURNED TO THE ROAD. THE NEXT 200 MILES WERE UNEVENTFUL. I WAS SCARED TO DRIVE AFTER DARK AFTER SUCH AN INCIDENT. I HAVE A APPOINTMENT IN FOLEY ALABAMA WITH DODGE NEXT MONDAY MORNING. ALSO BACK IN MARCH I WAS WAITING ON THE LEFT TURN LANE AND THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTED FROM DRIVE TO PARK ALL BY ITS SELF.

LIFE AND DEATH SITUATION: THE 2016 2500 RAM DIESEL TRUCK HAS A PROBLEM THAT CAUSES IT TO DO A COMPLETE ELECTRICAL SHUTDOWN WHILE DRIVING. A COMPLETE LOSS OF ALL ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS ARE LOST, INCLUDING A... COMPLETE ENGINE FAILURE... BRAKE LIGHTS... POWER STEERING... POWER BRAKES. EVERYTHING DIES WITH NO WARNING. JUST DEAD! FIAT DODGE RAM KNOWS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND ARE ALLOWING THESE VEHICLES TO BE SOLD TO AN UNKNOWING PUBLIC. THE REASON I KNOW THIS IS BECAUSE WHEN THE DEALER CALLED THE STAR HOT LINE AT RAM THEY WERE TOLD EXACTLY WHERE TO GO TO FIND THE PROBLEM!!! THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS FAILURES TO DATE. THIS WILL GET PEOPLE KILLED. THE 2016 RAMS HAVE ONLY BEEN ON THE ROAD FOR A MONTH. I OWN ONE AND MY VEHICLE IS PRESENTLY IN THE SHOP FOR REPAIR AFTER 10 ENGINE FAILURES!!!! WHEN THERE WERE NO FAILURE CODES ON MY RAM 2500.. AND.. IT FAILED AND SHUT DOWN ON THE TECH WHEN BACKING IT OUT OF THE BAY THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN AWAY FROM ME AS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THAT WAS A WEEK AGO. IT IS STILL STUCK IN THE SAME BAY AS IT WILL NOT CRANK. PROBLEM: TIPM TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE OR PDC INTEL PWR. PART # 68243265AD IS THE PROBLEM. THE MAIN TERMINAL INPUT CARRYING ALL ELECTRICAL POWER INTO THE VEHICLE IS BEING OVER TORQUED DURING MANUFACTURE. THIS IS CAUSING THE TERMINAL TO SNAP AND ONLY GIVE INTERMITTING POWER TO THE VEHICLE DURING OPERATION AND CAUSING THE TOTAL SHUT OF THE VEHICLE'S COMPUTERS AND SHUTDOWN OF THE VEHICLE. IN ADDITION TO THE THIS PROBLEM WHICH COULD CAUSE POSSIBLE DEATH, THE CONSTANT ARCING OF THE COMPUTERS HAS NOW CAUSED ADDITIONAL PROBLEMS TO MY VEHICLE. THERE IS NOW A FAILURE IN THE IGNITION SWITCH MODULE PART # 68271986AA AND IT HAS A ESD OF FEB 2016. I'LL DEAL WITH MY VEHICLE.. BUT ALLOWING THESE 8000# VEHICLES ON THE ROAD WITH THIS PROBLEM IS INEXCUSABLE WHEN DODGE RAM KNOWS THEY HAVE THIS SAFETY ISSUE. ....UPDATED 12/30/15 *BF UPDATED 05/21/18*JB
