Price & value
We don't guess at prices. Get a real value for the exact truck from Kelley Blue Book, then see how the asking price compares.
Is it a good deal?
- Look up the truck on Kelley Blue Book. Choose its cab, trim, options, miles, condition and your ZIP code, and note the private party value (or the fair purchase price if you're buying from a dealer).
- Enter that value and the asking price below.
Enter both numbers to see the deal rating.
The rating only compares the two numbers you enter: within 5% of the value is a good deal, 5–15% under is a great deal, and more than 15% under is a buy-it-now price. Know Your Truck isn't affiliated with Kelley Blue Book. Rust, accident history, lifts and mods, and service records all change what a truck is worth, so always get a pre-purchase inspection.

My vehicle was covered under recall 26N04 and 26V237 that addressed a violent unexpected downshift in the transmission while driving. The Ford dealer reprogrammed the PCM and stated that is all that could be done. This did not fix the violent unexpected downshift while traveling at highway speeds. My vehicle has done so several times since the 'fix'. Truck was taken back to Ford dealer and checked again. I was advised that Ford would not be fixing this issue because my truck did not have the correct code on their diagnostic exam. The lead frame is faulty and Ford refuses to fix even though they admit in their recall that the lead frame may be faulty.

I am filing an emergency complaint against Ford Motor Company for failure to provide a safety recall remedy within a reasonable timeframe under 49 U.S.C. Chapter 301. My vehicle has an active safety recall (Recall 20S31) for a compromised brake master cylinder, making it entirely unsafe to operate. The vehicle is currently grounded and inoperable at my residence. Ford Corporate has kept the required repair parts on a national backorder for over 3 months. On August 18th, Ford Corporate sent me a formal written denial explicitly refusing to provide a rental vehicle or alternative transportation while my truck sits stranded. Ford is forcing me to choose between driving a vehicle with known catastrophic braking failure or having no transportation, actively violating federal recall compliance guidelines.

There was no incident. Ford announced the recall in May with no remedy until August. I had to rent a truck to pull a trailer to [XXX] from [XXX]. They said there was no compensation as there was no "stop driving" notice on the recall but it stated the the vehicle could abruptly slow down /downshift increasing the risk of a crash. Wanted to go on record that compensation should be covered by Ford as this was a considerable safety issue. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I went to start my truck and the brake went all the way to the floor. I had no braking power and it had to be towed back home over an hour away. There is a recall on 2016 Ford F150 with the 3.5 Eco Boost engine which I have. This recall involves a seal in the master cylinder failing and losing braking power and affecting the brake booster. Referencing recall 20S31. I went to Ford and they told me the recall did not apply to this specific truck due to a different batch of parts. This truck is now having the exact problem as the specific ones which have already been recalled. I believe the recall should be expanded. This occurred shortly after driving an hour in the rain with my kid in the back. It could have easily killed us on the highway with no brakes. We had no idea this recall was in effect. It’s the last time I’m buying a Ford. I want to feel safe with my kids in the back and Ford does not seem to care.

On XXX I lost all brakes in my 2016 Ford F-150 while towing a fishing boat. I had just decended a steep grade on a busy downtown street when I received an alert that I was low on brake fluid. The next pump of the brake went to the floor. I received an audible alarm. Had this occured on the steep grade, this could have been a very serious accident. I understand the loss of brakes was due to failure of the master cylinder just and as described by the open recall on my vehicle. I added a quart of brake fluid to an empty resevoir, tried to pump the brakes up and the fluid vanished. I could not find any evidence of a leak. Clearly the fluid is in the brake booster, which is also replaced under this recall. I had the vehicle delivered to the closest dealership, Pierre Ford of [XXX] on Monday the XXX. The service advisor tod me he would need ot for two days. Four days later, the advisor text me to report that parts are not available, and that he would let me know when they were. I asked him to make sure that a VOR report had been submitted so that my repair repair parts could be expidited by Ford Corporate. He assured me the VOR had been placed. Today, on XXX, I called Customer Care who verified my recall eligability, and also informed me that no VOR had been requested against my VIN. I have found genuine ford parts for the repair of my vehicle in many Ford facilities in the nation. I dont feel that Ford is working very hard to get my only vehicle back on the road INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I had my 2016 Ford F-150 turned in for a recall notification on my transmission. I had no problems on my transmission before the Ford dealership updated the recall notice. After the update, my truck was downshifting and changing gears in a different way. I turned in the truck again and the dealership looked at it again and decided that Ford was not responsible for the issue. Now, my truck is having major issues with the transmission and it is still not fixed. The dealership did the recall update but something was done that made my transmission work differently and they will not fix it unless I pay.

What Happened MY 2016 Ford F-150 Platinum, equipped with a rear/360-degree camera system, has failed and displays a blue screen instead of providing a usable rearward image. This blue screen was confirmed by the Lugoff Ford Service Department (authorized Ford dealership) around June/July 2026. What I did to correct the problem I took the 2016 F150 Platinum to my local authorized Ford dealership (Lugoff Ford, Lugoff, SC). The Lugoff Ford dealership inspected the vehicle, confirmed the blue-screen rear camera failure, and determined that the camera requires replacement under the Ford Customer Satisfaction Program 25N17. The repair work would be in October 2026. Repair status In September 2026, I got an oil change service at Lugoff Ford. I asked about the status of the recall for the inoperable backup camera and was told that parts and an advanced software update have been changed and will now be available in February 2027. Safety As you are aware, an inoperable backup camera is a safety concern because it does not provide the driver with the rearward view expected from the vehicle's factory-installed camera system. When reversing, the driver cannot rely on the camera to identify pedestrians, vehicles, objects, or other hazards located behind the big F150 Platinum. Manufacturer Contacted I contacted Ford Motor Company's Customer Relationship Center twice to request assistance with an expedited repair, a formal Ford case, and/or a dealer-to-dealer parts search. I was unable to obtain a formal case or an escalation for an expedited remedy. Legal Complaint I am filing this complaint because the safety-related camera failure has been diagnosed, but the manufacturer has not provided an available remedy, and I have been given an estimated repair date of February 2027. I am requesting that NHTSA document this complaint and review the safety implications of an inoperative rear-view camera and the extended delay in obtaining the replacement remedy.

The faulty panoramic sunroof is a known issue by Ford Motor Company. Yet they have done nothing to resolve it. The panoramic sunroof on the 2016 Ford F-150 is known to develop operational and structural problems, including sticking, binding, excessive wind noise, water leaks, and failure of the glass panels or sunroof mechanism to open and close properly. In some cases, the sunroof can become misaligned or the tracks and components can fail, resulting in expensive repairs and potential water intrusion into the vehicle. This recurring issue has been reported by numerous F-150 owners and can significantly affect the vehicle’s reliability, usability, and resale value.

The door latches on some of the f150s, including mine, freeze under certain weather conditions. This presents the latches from opening. This can trap an individual inside in an emergency situation, or prevent someone from opening the door external to remove or address babies and children, which is an issue I experienced. Ford is aware of the problem, but will not repair unless the issue is replicated in an unrealistic environment. This leaves many owners at risk of a dangerous situation should the issue occur in a non-controlled environment. The inverse issue can also occur, where the door latches does not close properly and can cause the door to open during driving, and this has also been experienced. There are no warnings of the problem ahead of time.

Front passenger door failed to latch properly. The door will not close when pushed shut. Door is available for inspection upon request. Multiple family members ride in the front passenger seat and this door failing to close and latch properly does cause a serious concern for their safety. I avoid putting any passenger in the front passenger seat because it's is completely random if the door will latch and shut or if it will pop open while driving. Problem was reproduced and confirmed by local dealership but disputed by them. Vehicle has not be inspected by manufacturer, police or insurance. There was no warning lamps or messages of the problem prior to the failure. The only message is that the passenger door is open which is a typical message when any door is opened when entering and exiting the vehicle. It is not a warning. Just a reminder. Doors shutting, latching and locking properly are a major safety concern that no vehicle owner should have to stress over. I cannot safely put my family in this truck knowing that at any moment the door will not latch or that it will open as we drive down the road.

The body control module was destroyed when water leaked on it. Apparently there is a failed windshield seal(maybe) that causes leaking down the A pillar. That pillar leads the water directly to the wiring harness for the BCM. When my BCM went out, wipers, blinkers, external lights, speedo/tach, power windows (in the front), all HUD, all stereo, and I think the security system too, stopped working. I would like to file complaint against Ford for their latest recall (26N041) and how they are not doing replacing the defective Lead Frame in customers vehicles. It's a big scam and a waste of time. I brought my 2016 Ford F-150 in for Ford’s latest recall (26N04) affecting 2015–2017 models due to the transmission leadframe issue. I explained that I’ve been dealing with an intermittent problem for the past seven months: while driving, the gear indicator lights on the dash begin to flicker, and when that happens, the transmission shifts extremely hard and slams into the next gear. Ford kept my truck for a week and told me they were unable to duplicate the issue. They stated that multiple technicians drove the vehicle and none of them observed any problems. When I arrived to pick it up, I was handed a bill for more than $250 for a diagnostic fee. Within four miles of leaving the dealership, the gear indicator lights began flickering again. It’s difficult to accept that several technicians drove the truck over multiple days and never encountered the issue I experienced almost immediately. The entire process felt like a waste of time and money, and I’m left without any resolution to a problem that clearly still exists. They are not honoring the recall, they are trying to charge customers for the repair.

This vehicle 2016 ford F150 is known to have shorting issues. From literally all wiring harnesses. I had a small fire in my truck due to this issue, caused melting of the ribbon cable in my seat heater control module, which is a known issue from Ford. I have shorting in my turn signal switch (no wipers). Is that safe? I am a research scientist and engineer, I can tell you now it is not safe. If i need to prove it, I can do so with ease and write the necessary literature. If I cant use my AC sometimes, the windows fog, then i cant use the wipers to unfog them, how is this not a visibility issue? Not to mention all the shorts. I have a 40 gallon fuel tank, if any shorts get near it, is that going to be a fun experience for me? Please give Ford a penalty, the average owner of this truck pays thousands a year in repairs. I paid $17,800.00 in 2025 to repair this piece of shit. And it still has major issues. This is something ford needs to address, i want my wiring to be replaced, i bought a new engine, what if i cant use it especailly with the 3 year warranty bc the wiring consistently shorts and fails. unacceptable for a truck that's sticker price is $80k. I made an appointment for July 22,2026 with Purvis Ford in Fredericksburg to have the 28S26 recall for a transmission issue outlined in the recall. The process was estimated to be 4-6 hours. Purvis Ford called said the software upgrade was completed and i could get my truck. The truck would not shift out of 1st gear so i turned around and went back to the dealer and told the service advisor the situation. He told me i had to drive it for about two hundred miles to get it adapted to my driving habits. I drove it about 20 miles to my home and never shifted out of low gear. I called the service advisor and he said it needed to be towed back to the dealership for a second recall procedure. That was scheduled for the following Friday. On Thursday they called and said it needed a new transmission. The transmission was working fine when i delivered it to them. I did exact all what they told me to do. I’ve made several calls to Ford customer Service with no help from them. Monday the service manager told me it was going to be test driven by a factory technician and they would get back to me. It’s now Wednesday and no word on what the results are. I called this morning and was supposed to get called back but as of this hour nothing. What course of action do i have at this point.

My F150 engine stalls while driving when I am at a1/4 tank or less in hot or cold weather in stop and go traffic, at a stop sign or red traffic signal. I am able to restart the engine after placing the transmission in neutral or park. I have reported this issue to my ford dealer, but they say there is nothing wrong with the vehicle. There is currently a recall (#25S75) for this issue in later model F150s, but my vehicle is not covered. The Ford hotline instructed me to report this issue to NHTSA.

I was going to pass someone and as I was speeding up the check engine light came on. I pulled over and there was nothing wrong with the truck. Months later there was a warning that came up on the dash it said something about shifting and i was to park the truck. I took it to a transmission shop, come to find out that the shifting sensor had went out. They cleared the check engine light and it came back on. Ran a diagnostic on it and it said there was like 8 different things that needs to be fixed. There was Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold, Air Distribution Damper Position Sensor- Circuit Short to Ground or Open, Bank 1 Air/Fuel Ration Imbalance, Sensor Circuit, Internal Control Module Torque Performance, Heater Control Circuit (Bank 1, Sensor 1). When I am at a certain speed the truck will vibrate (feels like you have ran over the rubber strips on the road), if I accelerate and the passing gear kicks in there is a strange sound coming from under the truck. I dontfell like this should be put off on me. I have had alot of people saying that they are having the same issues I am having.

While driving, the vehicle has been going into limp mode at varying speeds on the roadway or while pulling onto the road. The problem lies within the components of the electric throttle body. The system malfunctions and locks the throttle body closed, thus putting the truck into limp mode. Shutting the vehicle off, waiting, and restarting temporarily resolves this issue UNTIL the PCM detects a fault in the electrical components of the throttle body and sends the truck into limp mode. When this happens, it also triggers a warning message regarding hill start assist. This is an extreme safety issue as pulling onto the roadway or loosing power in traffic and not being able to pull off can lead to collisions especially around blind curves or in heavy traffic. There also isn’t always a location to safely pull off the roadway, potentially leaving the vehicle and its operator in the roadway, increasing the risk of collision and injury

2016 f150 3.5L eco boost V-6 was purchased recently from used dealership. Upon taking possession the vehicle would shut down while driving. I’ve taken to dealership 5x and they are unable to resolve, diagnose or offer any help. Online, many other owners have noted same issue. Doing 65 on fwy and truck suddenly dies is big deal! Ford does nothing. Error message on dash says something about stability track. When restarting engine, it turns over many times as if flooded but then starts.

XXX: I scheduled an oil change online and selected the open transmission safety recall. [XXX] Ford executed Recall 26S28 (PCM Programming) under verification code RGLKT7MASIPIJ. The truck had absolutely no shifting issues prior to this flash. XXX: Within two weeks of the software update, the truck began experiencing the exact erratic shifting and violent gear-dropping safety hazards described in the recall. I returned the truck to the dealer. XXX: After days of complete silence, I had to initiate contact. First by phone, then by physically walking into the service desk on XXX to get answers because the dealer ignored my vehicle. Mid-XXX: After the truck sat on their lot for three weeks, they finally scanned it and retrieved code P2701. The dealer stated the recall wouldn't cover it and immediately quoted me $8,000 to rebuild or $10,000 to replace the transmission. They claimed they would submit the case to Ford Corporate. XXX: Having heard nothing, I returned to the dealership in person. I was told they still had no response from corporate. The Paperwork Contradiction: The technician's notes on Page 3 explicitly state: "No update so that one recall cannot be performed, must been updated at some point." This proves the technician failed to look at their own shop's service history from XXX (Page 2), where they signed off on completing the update. Furthermore, they condemned the entire transmission based strictly on a digital code scan; they never dropped the pan or performed any physical diagnostic work. I’m a single mother driving a 2016 Ford F-150, my only vehicle, while transporting small children daily. I’ve been experiencing sudden, violent shaking and unexpected downshifting while driving, especially at highway speeds. On more than one occasion, it has felt like the rear wheels try to lock, causing the entire truck to jolt and decelerate rapidly, putting my safety and the safety of my children at serious risk. I’ve taken the truck to the dealership and multiple independent mechanics, but no one can diagnose the issue because no error codes appear related to the transmission or shifting. The only code that comes up is for a faulty catalytic converter, but both catalytic converters have already been replaced. The dealership confirmed that the check engine light keeps coming on anyway, even though there’s no actual issue with the new parts. They said it’s as if the system is being triggered by something else, but they don’t know what. I was relieved to learn that NHTSA is investigating this exact issue in 2015–2017 F-150 models, because what I’m experiencing matches it exactly. I depend on this truck for everything, school drop-offs, groceries, and survival, and I have no backup vehicle. I am asking NHTSA to prioritize this investigation and take action. The vehicle experienced a sudden and unexpected loss of power steering assistance while being driven on a highway. The failure made the vehicle extremely difficult to steer and nearly caused an accident, creating a serious safety hazard. After pulling over to get off the highway, it was observed at lower speeds, the vehicle did not have its full range of steering also creating a safety hazard. The problem was confirmed by the dealer, who determined that the power steering gear system had failed. The dealer replaced and repaired the entire power steering system. No warning lights or other alerts appeared before the failure. The sudden loss of steering assistance occurred without warning while the vehicle was in motion, significantly increasing the risk of a crash.

Driving vehicle after about 20min of run time the transmission downshifts hard and all or most driver assistance feature warnings alert they are not functioning. Engine RPMS raise but vehicle does not move. Vehicle got stranded on busy road during rush hour with no ability to move on its' own. Check Engine light and other warnings on dashboard. Later diagnosis with a scan tool and pin point testing verified that the Lead Frame inside the transmission has failed at 80k miles. More concerning than early failure is the safety problem this poses. Braking, steering, and propulsion are all affected significantly! Once vehicle is stopped and put into park it won't shift or start again. Also if the vehicle is in park when symptoms are present any input on the gas pedal raises and holds the engine RPM at redline/rev-limiter for approximately 5 seconds. Went to Ziebart on 6/11/25 and they confirmed multiple hole/rust damage on frame which needed repair. They were perplexed as no problem was seen at my last yearly check of the rust protection in July of 2024. Also, no mention of a potential problem was found at my last vehicle inspection in December of 2024. How does this kind of damage occur in 6 months? I'm reading on-line that this is an issue with Ford F-150s, but no recall?

Dangerous hop that I was experiencing and would happen on a straight away going down the interstate. I did not have to be hitting a corner for the back end to hop sideways on me. It also would happen going around a slight corner. So pretty much, it happened no matter what when Id hit bumps at higher speeds. But it most definitely was a dangerous scenario for my truck and Ford should not take that lightly. But the chances of them coming up with a fix anytime soon is not likely. The shocks they come up with still do not do as good of job in front or the rear. Complete loss of the vehicle going around of the vehicle, which feels as its fishtailing or hitting black ice. I have replaced the original shocks hoping it would help, and new struts did not solve my problem. The only alternative is to purchase expensive suspension all together. The dealer should be made accountable for providing poor quality suspension which can result in the serios vehicle accident if the driver loses control.

The frame on this truck broke. The frame tore in a manner that the lower control arm became disconnected from the vehicle. I recognize that l live in an area where rust issues are real, however l am also very experienced with metal working and fabrication and can reliably assure that corrosion is not the cause of this failure in the frame of this vehicle. I have attached 4 photos, those are of the front & back of passenger side (good) and driver's side (bad). Note the broken bolt head (toward the front) and the broken frame. This is the actual frame that broke and not a bolted on subframe and to me this is a serious issue. There are so many of these trucks on the roads l feel that l am obligated to make you aware of the problem. I thank you for your time.

It was raining hard, it was a very dark day/difficult to see. I and others could easily have been killed. VERY, VERY DANGEROUS! Why the BCM isn’t in a sealed box, is mind blowing. The fact that the computer to my truck can get wet at all is nothing short of asinine. The vehicle was inspected by ICDI Diesel in [XXX] [XXX]). The taillights were replaced with OEM Ford parts and the new ones leaked as the previous ones. The water in the taillight assemblies could short out the wiring harness and the computer tied to it. The corrosion and rust on the wiring harness could cause fault codes up and down the wiring harness. Research online shows this is a common problem in late model Ford F-150. This problem must be fixed by Ford.

I am writing because I had the 3 recalls on my vehicle repaired 3 years ago but the dealership apparently may not have completed these because I just received a letter from Ford stating a quality audit discovered it may not have been done. Your website states they are incomplete which is beyond frustrating. I had to go through a lot just to get the dealership to work with me to give me a loaner car in order to get them done. Now I may have been driving around for 3 years in a vehicle I thought was fixed which could still injure me.

When fueling the Ford F 150, it will not shut off almost all fuel handles and as a result gasoline spews out a couple feet past the fuel pump handle as well as spilling fuel all over the side of the truck. This poses a fire hazard as well as slipping and carcinogen issue. Also, the paint and tires are subjected to deterioration and the vehicle smells of fuel for some time afterwards. I can never completely fill the vehicle without putting my ear up to the truck fill tube. No matter how far back I jump, I always get fuel on my feet, shoes and clothing. I haven't had fuel get in my eyes yet, but it is just a matter of time. Maybe a fuel station has already blown up. I'm sure that won't bee long if it has not already happened.

I took my 2016 Ford F-150 Lariat in for repairs. I was getting a dash light on Blind Spot Warning and Cross Traffic Warning. My service advisor called and told me I needed a battery junction box but that part was no longer available and that my truck will begin to break down. It only has 46,611 miles and otherwise in excellent condition. I can't believe Ford does not have access the this part to fix my truck. Any suggestions?

Power train failed and truck began to jerk and I lost control of the throttle. I had to throw myself (the truck) on the shoulder to avoid danger. Blinking lights on the dash board occurred. San Leandro Ford diagnosed issue as bad transmission and replaced it in November 2024. Inspected on site by authorized dealer. Told me customer problem must pay to have it replaced!! When I tried contacting national Ford representative and Bill Brandt dealership in Brentwood where purchased in Oct. 2016, no one wanted to take responsibility.

UNKNOWN Called a Ford dealership and they stated 2 other vehicles of the same year/make/model had similar issues. They couldn't find the issue. The touch screen radio got super hot to the point of not being able to touch it. Can't control the radio or climate from main panel. Can't lock or unlock truck manually or with key. Can't roll down windows from drivers side or adjust mirrors. Blind spot warning came on and at the same time all the tire pressure sensors lit up on the dash as well as the parking aid warning and airbag light. Worried about the risk of airbag deploying without cause, or fire from the radio getting so hot.

TPS Sensors and throttle body are all functioning properly.

I was driving vehicle to work. Going approximately 70 mph, the truck suddenly lost the ability to accelerate and starts running very rough, like it lost a cylinder. Then the collision warning comes on the dash and advanced trac icon and then the manual icon with the wrench that says check manual. I coast down the hill from the far left lane to the slow lane and take the first exit off the freeway and pull to the side of road. Shut the vehicle off, wait 30 seconds, try again starts right up and acts like no problem. Happened three times since. Same thing every time
