Price & value

We don't guess at prices. Get a real value for the exact truck from Kelley Blue Book, then see how the asking price compares.

Is it a good deal?

  1. Look up the truck on Kelley Blue Book. Choose its cab, trim, options, miles, condition and your ZIP code, and note the private party value (or the fair purchase price if you're buying from a dealer).
  2. Enter that value and the asking price below.
Check value on Kelley Blue Book ↗

Enter both numbers to see the deal rating.

The rating only compares the two numbers you enter: within 5% of the value is a good deal, 5–15% under is a great deal, and more than 15% under is a buy-it-now price. Know Your Truck isn't affiliated with Kelley Blue Book. Rust, accident history, lifts and mods, and service records all change what a truck is worth, so always get a pre-purchase inspection.

What is happening is a KNOWN issue that effects Ford F-150's from 2011-2013 Models with the 6-Speed transmissions. The issue is with the Molded Lead Frames. The fault causes hard downshifts out of now where. I was driving on a highway, at highway speeds, when the truck downshifted to 1st Gear. Incredibly unsafe, jolted the truck to an immediately forced reduced speed, luckily no one was behind me. Ford is aware of this, but is not correcting affected vehicles. My vehicle is a 2011 F-150, I tried to have it fixed while it was still under the "extended coverage" but Ford denied it due to it only being a "possible malfunction" at the time. Roughly 2 years later, the malfunction & defect is now on full force, rendering the truck unsafe to drive due to sudden down shifts at random intervals, multiple times a day while driving, yet now it is "passed the coverage." That is unacceptable, and is safety issue for the many of these generation models of F-150's that are still out driving.

The transmission unexpectedly downshift's to 1st gear, instrument gauges go dark, wheels have locked up, motor then lacks power. The issues have been going on for a while and recently had to stop on the side of the road 5 times in the 20 mile trip home from work. 2011 F-150 is unsafe to drive. Called Ford Customer Service on July 2, 2025. Case Number [XXX]. Was informed a prior Recall 16S19 addressing these issues was performed in 2016. A second recall 19S07 was issued for the same reasons. The service rep said this vin number is not listed; apparently it does not cover this vehicle. Ford customer service rep suggested filing a complaint with NHTSA.gov as this has been an ongoing safety issue. Unless NHTSA is made aware of an issue can it be addressed or in this case readdressed because the repairs by Ford has failed as a long term solution. I’ve had this specific issue happened a few times over the last year. Basically, my truck will get stuck in first gear, a wrench will pop up on the dashboard, and my odometer will go blank. Usually, my truck will stay in first gear until I put it in park and shut off the truck (to kind of “reset it”) and then crank it back up. Sometimes it takes multiple cycles of this. One time, I got stuck in third gear and had to use manual to shift it down to first gear (while driving), and then do the steps previously mentioned to “reset it”. Because of this, my truck has thrown a P0720 code. After research, it seems like the problem is with the molded lead frame. I have contacted multiple Ford dealerships, and they are definitely aware of the issue because each time they tell me that this issue used to be covered under warranty. The problem is, every dealership has said that this warranty expired some time ago (before I own the truck and before this started happening). Now they are saying the only way to prevent it is to spend $1600 for them to fix it. I don’t have $1600 to drop on a safety issue that is beyond my control. Especially since Ford knows about it. I have a video showing the last time it happened. I really hope this gets fixed because I do not want to be driving 60 miles an hour on the highway and suddenly drop into first gear.

Within seconds the truck jerked twice and when I looked at the dash I was in 1st gear doing over 5500 RPM. The speedometer showed I was not moving but no other indications of error on the dash. No Wrench showing this time. I pulled over and turned the truck off. Restarted the engine and everything was just fine the whole way home from there. I drove the truck to the dealership (Lawton, OK) to check the truck for me on Thursday but they seemed to think if the check engine light was not on there was no urgency. They know it is an F150 from 2011. They want me to return on the 16th for an appointment.

On certain days, usually humid days, when you approach a hill and give it gas, a wrench appears on the display and the truck goes into Limp mode. It may go for weeks without doing this, but when it happens, you may get killed. Especially, if you are on a highway. You have no power to move the truck. You are a sitting duck. I took in to a service station and the cleaned the Throttle body, but it still happens. If you drive slowly without changing accelerator position the truck will drive but too slowly. It happens far too much.

On 10/1/22whike driving my 2011 Ford F-150 eco boost with a130 k miles the service advancetrac warning came on along with turn signals not working and the electronic power assist failure warning came on and stayed on .This is a well documented issue with 2011-2014 f150s especially 2011 model because this is the first year cord changed to Electronic power steering, the issue almost caused me to wreck while taking the on ramp curve to INTERSTATE 10 in Port Arthur Tx .The hundreds of thousands to millions of complaints on this safety issue and the lack of ford not addressing it on the first year this electronic power steering was offered needs to be taken care of by Ford .This is extremely dangerous. It makes no sense for them to have a TSB ON THis issue on models 4 years after they started offereing EPAS on the same body style and not on the first year it was offered.Plese address this with Ford motor company before someone is killed due to this safety issue

I bought a set of 4 of these tires at the BIG O store at 2420 W. Northern Phoenix Az, on 12/2022. Within the first year I began to feel a wobble on the front. Then one day I woke up to the left drivers side tire flat, so I took it to Big O and they replaced the tire because a big screw went through the tread to where they had to replace it, plus it had a bubble on the tread. Then they rotated the tires. So the new tire was on the left rear and the old CXV was on the front. So months later, I started feeling the front start to wobble again. I looked at the left front (CXV) tire and found that it had a big bubble on the better part of a quarter of the tread portion of the tire. I took it back to Big O tire and they replaced it again. They said it was due to the heat. But they marked the right front tire with yellow crayon where the bubble on this tire was. But said nothing about it. Then a week or two ago I started feeling the wobble again So I saw That the right front tire had a bubble on the tread again. This was the same tire that BIG O had marked and let me drive away with. So 3 tires of the CXV performer have had the bubbles on the better part of 30-50% of the tread. I have not got this tire fixed yet. I was going to go back to Michelin's or Yokohama. The tire is very bad. I called the BIG O tire and they said it was because I have not rotated the tires as often as I should have. They said it was going to cost me the same price for the new one. I told them I wanted this tire back as I was going to send it to NHTSA. Then the guy said, "oops your still under warranty, we can replace it for the price of the warranty certificates. We havent had any problems with those tires." I wonder if this is true? My niece bought tires from BIG O same make and had the same problem with her tires. Please investigate this before someone dies or gets hurt from these tires falling apart at high speeds. I am out the money for new tires.

The glue that holds the plastic covers on the aluminum wheels has failed and two of the plastic covers have fallen off. The covers and wheels are available for inspection. The one cover fell off while driving down a local main road in our city. When I saw it fall off, I returned to the area where it was laying in the street to retrieve it. Before retrieving it I saw some cars swerve to miss it and at least one run it over. If this happened on the freeway at higher speeds who knows what could have occurred and therefore I have since removed the remaining two covers that were still attached. One seemed rather loose and was likely to fall off sooner than latter and other was still adhered rather well. No inspection occurred by the manufacturer as this appears to be a common problem with these plastic covers. To reattach them to the wheels it appears that the gluing system is proprietary. No warning lamps or messages present.

Not on this year and model only and various reasons caused the problem. It does seem to be isolated to the wiring under the seat. The light will go off at times and then come back on after a few days. Are there enough vehicles to prompt a recall? This is a safety issue with the Air-bags may not functionally properly. THE CAUSE IN MANY CASES WAS THE SEAT HEATING ELEMENT (FORD PART NUMBER 9L3Z14D696C) HAD BURNT UP CAUSING DAMAGE THE SEAT FOAM AND IN SOME CASES BURNT THE SEAT COVER. I REMOVED MY SEAT TO SEE IF THIS WAS THE SAME ISSUE I WAS HAVING AND DISCOVERED THE SAME ISSUE MANY OTHERS HAD EXPERIENCED (SEE ATTACHED PICTURES.) I ORDERED THE SAME PART 9L3Z14D696C FOR $30 FROM MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND IT'S WORKING AGAIN BUT FOR HOW LONG' I'M SURPRISED THAT FORD HAS NOT ALREADY ADDRESSED THIS ISSUE. THIS DEFINITELY COULD HAVE BEEN A LOT WORSE HAD THE SEAT CAUGHT FIRE WHILE I WAS DRIVING, OR WHILE REMOTE STARTING MY TRUCK (THE SEAT HEATERS WERE SET TO COME ON WHEN THE TRUCK WAS REMOTE STARTED.) IT WAS A 20 DEGREE MORNING SO I DECIDED TO USE THE REMOTE START TO WARM UP MY TRUCK BEFORE I WENT TO WORK. I CLIMB INTO THE TRUCK AND GO TO BACK OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY AND NOTICED THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE SLIDER IS SHATTERED. I'VE NEVER HAULED ANYTHING IN THE BED SO NOTHING WOULD HAVE CAME INTO CONTACT WITH THE WINDOW. AFTER DOING A LITTLE RESEARCH, I DISCOVERED THAT THERE ARE PLENTY OF FORD OWNERS THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED, ONE GENTLEMAN HAD HIS CHILD IN THE BACK WHEN THIS HAPPENED! FORTUNATELY MY CHILDREN WERE NOT WITH ME AT THE TIME THE WINDOW SHATTERED. HOPEFULLY FORD WILL COVER THIS BEING THAT IT'S $800, BUT I'M GUESSING THEY'LL TELL ME IT'S NOT THEY'RE PROBLEM. *TR

Power steering failure. On two separate occasions the power steering pulled the steering wheel out of my hands while making a right hand turn. I was lucky that in both occurrences that there was nothing in the other lane or there would have been an accident. This should be a huge safety concern for Ford but I seriously doubt they even care.

WHILE TRAVELING WITH THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC (40-45 MILES) AN HOUR I HAD A COLLISION WITH CARS IN FRONT OF ME. AS A RESULT OF THE COLLISION I WAS KNOCKED UNCONSCIOUS. DAZED AND INJURED I COULD NOT RECALL THE DETAILS OF THE MOMENTS JUST BEFORE THE COLLISION, TO THE POLICE. ALL THAT I COULD REMEMBER WAS TRYING DESPERATELY TO STOP THE VEHICLE BUT IT WOULD NOT STOP. AFTER THE ACCIDENT NO ONE SEEMS TO BELIEVE ME AND EVEN MY INSURANCE CARRIER IS NOT INTERESTED IN LOOKING INTO THE POSSIBILITY THAT THE BRAKES FAILED OR THE CRUISE CONTROL MALFUNCTIONED. *TR THE CONSUMER REFERENCED NHTSA ACTION NUMBER EA15006. HE BELIEVED HIS ACCIDENT WAS DUE TO A BRAKE SYSTEM DEFECT. UPDATED 05/19/16.*JB
