Price & value
We don't guess at prices. Get a real value for the exact truck from Kelley Blue Book, then see how the asking price compares.
Is it a good deal?
- Look up the truck on Kelley Blue Book. Choose its cab, trim, options, miles, condition and your ZIP code, and note the private party value (or the fair purchase price if you're buying from a dealer).
- Enter that value and the asking price below.
Enter both numbers to see the deal rating.
The rating only compares the two numbers you enter: within 5% of the value is a good deal, 5–15% under is a great deal, and more than 15% under is a buy-it-now price. Know Your Truck isn't affiliated with Kelley Blue Book. Rust, accident history, lifts and mods, and service records all change what a truck is worth, so always get a pre-purchase inspection.

I have received a voluntary recall notice on my 2023 Chevrolet Silverado. The recall states that the vehicle may have a condition which can cause the Fuel Pump power control module to fail. If this happens fuel flow to the engine could be interrupted causing the motor to shut off. Would this be considered a safety concern if the engine shuts down on th highway?

Engine failure on our 4-cylinder- it just quits same problem as on the 6-cylinder - it just stops running or runs rough. No warning signs and no indication that it is about to fail. Hazardous on the freeway. Vehicle has been at the mechanics for a month now and GM keeps saying the engine is on backorder.

I drive a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 3.0L Diesel with the 10-speed transmission. The transmission control software failed to monitor/detect valve body wear or trigger a 5th-gear 'limp mode' safety net, resulting in three separate instances of sudden rear-wheel lockup at speed. The dealer was unable to replicate the issue during a service visit from 6/10 - XXX. The issue was raised as the transmission was shifting increasingly badly leading up to this service visit. The first full lockup occurred a few days after receipt of the vehicle on XXX driving eastbound on [XXX]. Off the gas, coasting downhill. Once everybody started speeding up, I increased the throttle gently and the truck shook violently. I initially thought I had been hit by another vehicle but realized it was the transmission. Speed was noted 24 mph. The second incident occurred XXX while traveling to [XXX]. Driving southbound between [XXX] and [XXX] at approximately 50 MPH in a coasting condition. Went to pass a slow vehicle and the vehicle jerked violently an locked the rear wheels. Initial assumption was that I had been hit. Was able to regain control and continue. The third incident occurredXXX while traveling from [XXX] to [XXX]. Driving eastbound on [XXX] at approximately 35 mph, when moving from a coast to acceleration posture, the vehicle again locked the rear wheels and jerked violently. Finally, onXXX when traveling southbound from [XXX] to [XXX], I stopped for fuel. When attempting to accelerate onto the freeway, the vehicle failed to engage 6 gear, stumbled, and then went into limp mode with a check engine light. I was driving my 2023 silverado 1500 down the highway when my engine started loosing power and then shut completely down at 65 mph. My safety and others were at risk due to speed and loss of power. I was lucky enough to not be on an interstate or in a metropolitan area. This happened due to a recall on this particular motor from General Motors (6.2 Liter). My vehicle was taken to a local General Motors dealership and the engine replaced. There were no warnings or abnormal behaviors of the vehicle prior to and the vehicle was taken in for the recall prior to the incident. The motor oil was changed to the recommended 0-W40 by the dealership.

I have noticed a ticking noise that is coming from the engine, driver side, the tick after the recall was preformed, 5-23-2025. The tick has grown in loudness from that date. Took the truck to the dealership and they did a check but was unable to locate anything, no parts were removed and no witness marks on any of the engine areas Example oil pan and so on. I was told that they would charge me if the truck was brought back for the same issue per GM not the dealership. They have been doing my oil changes at a 3,000 mile interval. The tick has gotten progressively louder, and I am nervous about driving my truck but I can't not work.

I had to rent a vehicle to drive back home to [XXX]. The dealer has no idea how long it will take to get a shifter from Chevy. Is there any help available. The engine in my 2023 Silverado ZR2 (6.2L L87 V8) failed. It is available for inspection at Rick Hendrick Chevrolet ([XXX]). On XXX at about 67,000 miles, and the days leading up to it, the truck repeatedly struggled to start due to metal on metal contact, almost leaving me and my family stranded multiple times. Driving the vehicle produced a loud rattling noise at 2200 to 2700 rpm, and felt unsafe to drive. Especially with my family. The problem was reproduced and confirmed to be an engine failure by the Rick Hendrick Chevy dealership a week after being dropped off with an appointment. I have been told the engine needs to be replaced under the special coverage program (N252494003). The L87 recall inspection and oil change was completed on XXX also by Rick Hendrick Chevy. There were not warning lights or other symptoms leading up to this engine failure. The symptoms of struggling to start and the ticking noise as 2200 to 2700 RPM started that weekend before I brought to dealership. They got progressively worse. Dealership has said I will receive a new engine under warranty but no timeline for completion. Additionally I have not been furnished with a service loaner or option for one. Leaving me with no vehicle to replace it. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Engine failed and was replaced at 38k. Transmission shudders, have been back to dealership multiple times for transmission shudder, have been told it was tires, torque converter, and valve body. When those items didn’t fix the issue, I was told it was the engine dfm and that it was normal and not a problem, AFTER they had already acknowledged the transmission issue by trying to fix it with a torque converter and valve body. Engine failed again at 54,604 miles while at high way speeds in rush hour like traffic in between [XXX] and [XXX], while pulling a camper. Truck oiled down the interstate and produced a blueish/milky looking cloud that caused drivers behind me to lock up their brakes because of bad vision, creating a hazard. I was told by gm that they wouldn’t tow the camper that I had to take care of that but they wouldn’t tow send a truck for my truck. Tow truck gets there and says my truck is too big and leaves. I called my own rollback to get my truck 3 1/2 hours later and they came and got it. Was stranded on the side of the interstate for 4 1/2 hours in 90 degree weather, to my knowledge the 2nd truck gm was supposed to send never showed up. Requested a buyback and was denied with no reason given. I have a lot of records if anyone wants them. [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

A valve on the 3.0L Duramax is allegedly sticking, causing the vehicle to go into limp mode or be inoperable. This is a known issue for GM and they have issued a service bulletin on it. Unfortunately, no dealers want to address the issue and now we are left with a vehicle that if we do not pay to repair, after it being ours for only 5 days, the vehicle will be unusable. This vehicle is under warranty still and this part is needed for operation. I believe this avoidance of a recall is harming customers and creating pay to drive schemes. This needs to be addressed before thousands of customers begin paying for a repair that GM knows is their fault.

6/12/26 ( 2023 Chevy Silverado - 6.2 liter engine) While driving at approximately 40 MPH on a two lane road, the truck shut off. After multiple attempts, the engine failed to restart. The transmission locked up in park and would not release. This required the truck to be dragged up on the flat bed wrecker instead of rolling freely. Prior to this instance there have been several issues with the electrical system. 1. radio sound shuts off. does not come back on. 2. Head lights stay on for 10 minutes after vehicle is turn off. 3. Tail gate opens on it own. Tail gate doesn't open with fob. 4. door locks fail to operate correctly. 5. When drivers door is opened a beeping sound starts and doesn't stop until door is closed. I have reported these problems to GM & have two case numbers. The dealership reports that the 6.2 replacement engines have had multiple failures.

While shifting my vehicle from Park, a "Service Transmission" warning message appeared on the dashboard. The warning would illuminate and then disappear, but the vehicle continued to shift into the other gears. At the time the issue occurred, my truck had only 47,000 miles. I brought it to Blasius Chevrolet in [XXX] on XXX, for diagnosis. The dealership determined that the Transmission Control Assembly (Part # XXX) had failed and needed to be replaced. I was informed that this repair was not covered under the powertrain warranty because Chevrolet considers the Transmission Control Assembly to be excluded from powertrain coverage, and my basic warranty had already expired. I was quoted more than $900 for parts and labor. Initially, I was told the replacement part would arrive within a few days. Later, the technician stated that other Chevrolet dealerships had the part in stock. However, after contacting those dealerships, he was told they would not release their inventory. Chevrolet then advised that the part was on national backorder, with the earliest estimated availability of XXX. As a result, I have been without my truck for approximately one month, creating a significant hardship. After researching this issue, I found numerous reports from other Chevrolet owners experiencing the same failure involving the Transmission Control Assembly. The apparent frequency of these failures, combined with the nationwide backorder of the part, suggests this may be a widespread defect rather than normal wear and tear. I believe Chevrolet should either: Cover this repair under the powertrain warranty, as it directly affects the operation of the transmission, or Issue a recall or warranty extension if this is determined to be a common defect affecting vehicle safety and reliability. I am submitting this complaint because I am concerned that a failure of the Transmission Control Assembly could impact the safe operation of the vehicle. I have a complaint about GM and my 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTZ regarding the radio / infotainment system failure after attempting a recommended software update, and the resulting degradation of installed safety features. On 08 MAY 2026, my infotainment system indicated a software update was necessary, so I followed the directions to complete the update. When the update was complete, my infotainment screen said there was a failure and to take it to the dealership for repair. The entire infotainement system is inoperative. The soonest appointment I could make was for 18 MAY 2026. On 18 MAY 2026, I took my Silverado into the dealership where I have it serviced to address the failure of my infotainment system. My service advisor informed me that I would need a new radio and that these radios are on a national backorder list. My advisor informed me that they have other customers who are experiencing the same issue and have been waiting for the replacement radio since January 2026. My advisor informs me that there is no estimated time of resolution. This defect inhibits safety features such as; use of OnStar, Google and Apple Maps that provide travel advisory hazards, parking camera views, vehicle systems status. Thank you.

Evaporative emissions purge pump failed at 18,473 miles. As the bumper-to-bumper warranty has expired GM refused to cover this repair. As this is a known problem with certain GM vehicles, the repair is covered for older model year out-of-warranty cars and for residents of other states (California, for example). This repair is covered by the emissions warranty in some states (California), but not Michigan.

While driving at Interstate speeds, the engine abruptly stalled, causing an immediate loss of motive power. I was able to coast off the Interstate to a surface street then into a gas station parking lot. Once stopped, the engine would not start again. It would crank repeatedly but never fire, like it was out of gas, but I had nearly 1/2 tank still. This is a safety concern having a 3yr old truck just die on you at highway speeds. Catastrophic Engine failure - Chevy, Silverado 1500, Yr: 2023; Odometer: 33,183: On 8/16/2026 we were traveling down a busy highway towing our camper and the engine completely stopped, no propulsion, no warning lights, no check engine lights; complete failure; we had to coast to side of road. The only thing that indicated a problem is that we started hearing what sounded like marbles rattling, it wasn't loud but noticeable. We pulled over at gas station to check oil, even though we just had the oil changed for maintenance on 7/17/2026 (Odometer: 32,587). Everything checked out ok; however, the marble sound became louder; then within 5 minutes of leaving the gas station, we lost all engine propulsion; the engine completely shut down. Our safety was put at risk as we had no truck engine and were towing a camper on a busy highway; and had to try and coast to a safe location on side of road; miles away from home. We had to call a tow truck to come get us and unfortunately, they could not help us with our camper so then had to call our son to come with his truck to get our camper and us home safely. The tow company also had a difficult time getting the truck into neutral to tow. The truck was towed to our hometown Chevy Dealer. The dealer said that they were not going to diagnose the problem and instead are ordering a new 6.2 engine; same as the 6.2 that failed. We asked if this would fix the problem and they said there were no guarantees as it is the same engine with the same problem. Prior to this event, we received a recall in Sep 2025 and an engine inspection and oil change was performed on 9/12/2025 (Odometer: 25,751); we were told that our engine was ok. As of 9/3/2026; we have been without our vehicle for 17 days.

Multiple times the truck has stopped running while driving. Once one the highway, once in an intersection, another time in a parking lot. It has not started when I have tried to turn it on. All the times I have called AAA. They have checked the battery and there is no battery issue. Twice AAA has come out, once the police have come and sat behind the truck to keep me safe. After about 10 minutes of the sitting with the truck off I can restart it and drive. Upon research, other Chevy trucks of similar age have a recall for a failed fuel pump module. This is the issue. If it is a known issue, and causing a dangerous situation it should be recalled on all trims of Chevy trucks. I will be getting this fixed, but don’t feel I should incur the $1,000 expense for a known defect.

Sometimes the Silverado will go from 70 mph to 30-40 or less and back to 70. Most of the time it will apply the brakes for a sec and then off. One time it locked up the brakes from the low 60 ish MPH to almost stoped before I could get control. Every time this happens there is no cars, or abstractions in my lane. I have had the Silverado into 2 dealers for this problem about 25 times and they can not fix the problem and I have been told that they are done working on it and they can not find the problem and I will have to live with it. I don't fell safe driving it and have told that to them. I have asked many time to have a GM Engineer look at my Silverado and find the problem and they did nothing to resolve the problem. I need to a get this problem addressed before I cause an accident or am in one. I also have many other problems that they cannot resolve, The Blind spot mirrors light will go off all the time with nothing there or a car will pass on the left side and both the left and right mirror lights will go off. The Bluetooth will disconnect from the Silverado and the person I am talking to can hear me just fine and the call is no longer over the speakers in the Silverado it is on the ear piece of my phone and then will go back to the speakers on the Silverado. I will get an alarm that says "Take Wheel" with hands at 10 and 2 on steering wheel looking straight ahead. Get an alarm that have trailer light problem and will turn on blinker and it will flash quickly for 10 seconds and then is normal. Radio skips on FM, AM, XM, MP3 Player at times. The Silverado has spent over 4 months and 25 times at a dealer since I bought it new and they have nor been able to resolve any of the problems and I have been told by GM that they are done working on this truck and they can not find the problems. I am sending this email to report that my 2023 Chevrolet Silverado had its rear brakes lock up momentarily on consecutive days (1/13/26 & 1/14/26) driving 70-72 mph. Each occurrence came on without warning and only lasted a brief moment, but locked up hard enough for my rear wheels to screech and slam me forward in the truck, thankfully there were no other vehicles near me. I took the truck to the dealership first thing in the morning on 1/15/26 to be informed later that day that the truck didn't show any codes. The service department at my dealership contacted the TAC Dept. at GM and they determined that the problem was caused by the brake light wiring from my truck topper (that was after they asked if the customer had added any accessories to the truck). I have had the topper for 3 years without any issues. I reached out to the company that installed the topper and the owner said that GM is giving me the run around and trying to point the blame elsewhere. He himself has installed 100's of toppers and they follow the wiring instructions from Leer Toppers. He did a 30 second Google search and said [XXX] , the problem you have experienced is well documented online, GM knows what the problem is with your truck". My truck was at the dealership for 5 days before they released it to me, even after I told them that there are known and documented cases of their trucks experiencing momentary rear wheel lockups. I have called GM Customer Service twice and left messages regarding my truck and TAC # and haven't received a return call. I am fearful that when this happens again and if it does so in the wrong place at the wrong time the end of this story may be tragic. If I was pulling a trailer, driving on ice or in rush hour traffic I can't imagine the outcome. GM knows they have a serious problem and they is comfortable in releasing a dangerous truck back onto the roads. The left front turn signal becomes inoperable at times. The foreword collision indicator warning will come on unprovoked at times. Both conditions correct when you cycle the ignition switch. I consider the turn signal problem a safety issue because it happens with no warning and oncoming traffic may not know I am turning left or changing lanes. When the foreword indicator appears, I doubt the system is operable.

Thank you.

I am filing a formal complaint regarding General Motors' handling of a critical vehicle component that has left my vehicle and many others in an unsafe condition. For more than over a one month, I have been waiting for a replacement gear shift module that is currently on backorder. During this time, I have learned that numerous General Motors customers are experiencing the same issue and are also waiting for this part to become available. My primary concern is that this appears to be more than an isolated parts shortage. If so many vehicles require replacement of the same safety-related component, General Motors should be evaluating whether this issue warrants a safety recall or, at a minimum, notifying affected customers of the potential risks. The gear shift module is a critical component that affects the safe operation of a vehicle. Allowing customers to continue driving vehicles that may have a defective gear shift module without providing a safety notification or timely repair raises serious concerns regarding public safety. I respectfully request that the NHTSA investigate this matter and encourage General Motors to: Explain the reason for the extended backorder of this critical component. Provide customers with a reasonable timeline for obtaining replacement parts. Determine whether this issue should be addressed through a formal safety recall or customer safety notification. Offer appropriate assistance to customers whose vehicles have been affected by this prolonged delay. Customers should not be expected to operate vehicles that may present a potential safety risk while waiting indefinitely for a critical replacement part.

My engine completely died, and a complete loss of propulsion happened. My safety was put at risk due to no power while on busy highway. This problem with L87 engines (6.2) has been reported extensively. The vehicle was inspected for GM Program # N252494000, NHTSA 25V74 for above issues and was inspected on 2025-08-28. Inspection passed, but the failure ultimatel happened on 2025-02-25. Dealer indicated engine was covered under original powertrain warranty and GM would send a remanufactured engine. Dealer has still not received the engine as of Monday (2/23), which is almost a month later. While driving on a US highway in a rural area, my engine suddenly died while driving approximately 60mph. The restart engine light came on, and I quickly was unsure what was happening as I felt myself slowing down slightly after realizing I had no power and the engine would not restart. I believe it went to neutral automatically. I was in the inside lane, and it was incredibly dangerous due to traffic around me. I could not easily exit to side of road due to the traffic, but luckily a gap formed, and I was able to abruptly get off the road. I have kids in the car daily, and this would have been life threatening had it happen in any other scenario, or especially in a larger city or busier highway. I am confident this is related to GM's issues with the 6.2 liter engines. I have a 2023 Silverado 1500 ZR2 that this happened to. The loss of propulsion is clearly due to the defect in these engines.

Driving at highway speeds the message center prompted us to restart the truck and put itself into neutral. Upon attempting to do so, the message center read conditions not correct to shift. We were traveling in a single lane highway thankfully on a decent where we coasted into a parking lot. The truck list all power steering and brakes. We turned the truck off and attempted to restart. Lights were randomly flickering on and off, but the starter couldn’t turn the engine over. After 3 hours of waiting on Chevrolet roadside assistance we obtained our own tow service. The truck tires had seized up causing the driver to drag the truck into the flatbed. The emergency brake kept resetting itself. The following day 7/13 Chevrolet had the truck towed to the dealership. On Monday 7/16 we were informed the engine had catastrophic failure with less than 24k miles. This is the second major engine breakdown as the first was at 5k miles where one side of the engine had collapsed lifters. Engines are on back order but in reviewing other experiences the replacements experience the same issues. The truck is not a safe vehicle to drive.

Upon purchasing a used 2023 Silverado, on the first night of ownership, I found the headlight on the passenger side to be defective. The high beams activated approximately a full second slower than the driver's side. It took me a few days to confirm what I was seeing, where I immediately reached out to help from the Chevy dealership it was purchased from. After back and forth, the dealership refused to fix this saftey item as it was "still operational just not 100%" or something to that affect (not a direct quote). The extended warranty company doesn't typically cover headlight housing. The dealership locally says both headlights need replacement. Chevy Corp is involved, under claim 104164057. I've brought to their attention that I have found several reports of this defect online for similar vehicles and model year. My contention is that, particularly due to being the passenger side, this malfunction could lead to accidents and collisions due to distraction of troubleshooting, and the delay of lighting on the side where animals and night hazards typically come from. I've read online reports of these headlights may take up to 3 seconds between sides to both activate, with one side running slower than the other, and eventual failure where the switching mechanism will get stuck. A Chevy dealer confirmed the defect and recommended replacement of both headlights, at my cost, for approximately $4000. Chevy is still investigating and trying to find a conclusion with the dealership, but I contest that I have malfunctioning saftey equipment that could lead to harm or injury, and at the moment, both dealer and manufacturer have been unwilling to resolve the issue. The failure occurs both in auto-headlight and manual modes.

Occasionally, from the time the vehicle is started to a while after shutdown the left front turn signal / DRL / parking light does not work. Upon turning on the left turn signal, the driver information center says check left front turn signal lamp. The rear turn signal flashes rapidly and the front doesn't illuminate. I've had the vehicle to the dealer 3 times and counting. Twice they confirmed the problem. Wires were inspected and a connection to the turn signal assembly was greased and researes. The next step is to replace the turn signal / headlight assembly.

The issue went away for a couple of months and then the exact thing happened when using now the right turn signal. This provides no way of letting other people know who are headed towards my vehicle that i am turning lanes. The last incident was verified by the dealership. The headlight is not serviceable. No warnings occurred until after a few blinks where the front signals wouldn't work then indicated that the light was malfunctioning.

I needed a replacement driver-side windshield wiper arm for my 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTZ Z71 with factory rain-sensing wipers. GM's electronic parts catalog directed the Chevrolet dealer to part #23387855. The dealer physically compared the part to my original arm and confirmed it was the wrong shape and would not fit. The dealer opened a formal Catalog Omission/Error (COE) ticket with GM. I was then informed that GM redesigned the wiper arm on my truck. The correct redesigned arm has been ordered, but I was told there is no estimated availability date and that it is not currently available through GM dealerships or GM's parts distribution/warehouse system in North America. This is a safety concern because a damaged or failed wiper arm could leave an owner without proper windshield visibility during rain or severe weather. I am also concerned that the passenger-side arm may have the same catalog and availability problem, although this has not yet been confirmed. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate whether this issue affects both wiper arms and other 2023 and newer Silverado 1500 trucks with this wiper configuration nationwide.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Glass sunroof blew outwards driving 60mph on the highway. No other vehicles were around and I did not see anything impact the vehicle. The glass was broken outwards and created an 8” by 8” hole in the sunroof glass. There was no extreme temperature differential, approx. 55 degrees outside. It has been repaired and not available for inspection. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? It sounded like a gunshot inside the truck, causing extreme distraction at highway speeds. Luckily the interior shade was closed and caught the glass, but if it was open all of the glass would have fallen on the passengers. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? No the dealership did not consider it a manufacturing defect. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Insurance inspected the vehicle and it was covered under a glass claim. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No indication prior to the incident at all. It happened out of nowhere.

When driving normally OR pulling a camper (same day), power steering seems to "stick" as I exit either a moderate RH or LH corner. I must apply extra effort to the steering wheel to straighten out, and that invariably leads to an over-correction and departure into either the shoulder or the opposite lane. Problem is not sensitive to speed or weather conditions. The symptoms are not necessarily worse when pulling a camper, but the consequences are much more drastic and losing control of the vehicle feels much more imminent than when driving just the truck. Because the problem comes and goes so quickly, I can be applying force to straighten the wheel when suddenly, no force is required and the truck veers either left or right. I see no warning lights, nor do I see any messages displayed. I have not yet had the opportunity to get the truck to a mechanic. I'm not confident that I can safely drive to a repair facility, as the steering is so unpredictable.

My 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 experiences an intermittant, uncommanded mechanical drivetrain lockup and severe binding when accelerating from a complete stop. The vehicle rolls fine in a straight line for several feet, but the exact moment the steering wheel is turned slightly (a couple degrees), the drivetrain violently binds up. This creates resistance in the steering and acceleration, as well as a severe physical and audible metallic clunking slam and massive shockwave vibrations felt directly through the steering wheel, floorboards, brake/gas pedals, and driver’s seat. During the last event, the vehicle threw a "Service 4 Wheel Drive" dash message and refused to shift out of "Auto" mode back into 2WD. Because this is a pure mechanical interference/binding issue, it does not consistently throw active electronic trouble codes. A standard OBD2 code scan will show nothing. After turning the vehicle off for several hours and testing again, the problem persisted. After towing the vehicle to a dealership (6/10/2026) it sat for at least 5 days before dealership service looked at it. By this time, the active warning lights cleared. My initial servicing dealership refused to perform physical hardware or fluid diagnostics under my factory warranty, stating they would not look at the vehicle unless I paid $860 out-of-pocket or until the drivetrain "completely grenaded" on the road. Because this uncommanded lockup restricts my ability to steer the vehicle safely from a stop, it presents an immediate crash hazard. At the direction of General Motors Corporate, I am escalating this issue and moving the vehicle to a secondary certified facility (Feldman Chevrolet of Novi) on June 23, 2026, for a formal physical hardware and fluid tear-down inspection.

While driving the vehicle the tailgate came open by itself. I had left my house and when I arrived at my friend’s house to pick him up the tailgate was down. I closed the tailgate and while driving a driver honked their horn to alert me that something was wrong. When I pulled off the road the tailgate had come open for a second time.

My tailgate latch keeps opening every 60 seconds. Does it going down the road or parked. my tailgate has hit numerous cars that parked behind me causing me to have to pay out of pocket for 2 other cars where my tailgate dented or scraped the paint on their vehicles. I see this safety recall online for this tailgate latch, but my vehicle isn't covered for some reason. Safety recall N232426400 explains the entire issue with the faulty latches. Due to the faulty latch, now my tailgate also needs bodywork and to be repainted. That's costly.

Thank you.

Vehicle sways/wobbles on grooved pavement. Magnified immensely when towing a trailer. Threatens to pull you into other driving lanes. Service technician and service manager at dealership state it is a known condition with the type of tires Chevrolet has put on the vehicle and that Chevrolet is refusing to do anything about it. Multiple dates and is repeatable.
