Price & value

We don't guess at prices. Get a real value for the exact truck from Kelley Blue Book, then see how the asking price compares.

Is it a good deal?

  1. Look up the truck on Kelley Blue Book. Choose its cab, trim, options, miles, condition and your ZIP code, and note the private party value (or the fair purchase price if you're buying from a dealer).
  2. Enter that value and the asking price below.
Check value on Kelley Blue Book ↗

Enter both numbers to see the deal rating.

The rating only compares the two numbers you enter: within 5% of the value is a good deal, 5–15% under is a great deal, and more than 15% under is a buy-it-now price. Know Your Truck isn't affiliated with Kelley Blue Book. Rust, accident history, lifts and mods, and service records all change what a truck is worth, so always get a pre-purchase inspection.

After driving through a heavy downpour, power steering cut out intermittently. The next day, it became full inoperable. Repair shop initially suggested letting the controls "dry out". When that was unsuccessful, the shop suggested taking it to a dealer, stating that the entire rack and pinion assembly needs to be replaced. I took it to a dealer, and they claimed the assembly failed, need to be replaced, and was on a 45-day minimum back order.

I've done an exhaustive on-line search and haven't been able to locate the module for my year and model truck through any RAM 'MOPAR' dealership. As we were driving along the freeway at highway speeds, the dash lights completely cut out on my ram 1500 2019. At first, this seemed to simply affect the visibility of the central console, speed controls, light indicators, etc. But then as we continued on and proceeded to exit the freeway, the entire vehicle shut down and lost total power steering speed control and power braking. I had to rapidly exit and take at safety on side of the road before completely losing control. Previously we had lost power to the video control display but it had never lost power before. We had also previously experienced where we were on the freeway at freeway speeds and the cruise control just rapidly shut down the same time as the video console shut down and the vehicle proceeded to slow rapidly and unexpectedly. After the incidence of losing cruise control and losing the central display, we took the vehicle multiple times to a ram authorized dealer service center in salt lake City as well as an independent shop. Neither could replicate and the issue as it is severely intermittent. We continued to use the vehicle given their clean bill of health. However, this incident showed a new level of severe risk in driving the vehicle. There were no warning indicators or flashing lights as the console completely failed in the middle of the driver screen. By several mechanical shops unable to replicate the issue. We were able to start recording upon the demonstration of the latest incident and have a video of this happening but too large to upload. Should this have happened while we were still on the freeway and unable to safely navigate to a shoulder on either the left or right of the road, we would have essentially been forced to go from full-freeway speeds in a matter of seconds, creating a significant risk for ourselves and others. You can see in the video the central console goes completely black does not show speed Indicators does not flash any warning signal, intermittent control.

EGR cooler failed while driving on May 29, 2026. Towed truck to Greenville Chrysler that day. EGR cooler, melted intake manifold and melted wiring harness are being replaced. Service Advisor says "Safety Recall VB1 / NHTSA 19V-757 Diesel EGR Cooler" was accomplished in 2021. Per the Recall, the EGR cooler is replaced with a new part number. Accomplishment of this recall clearly did not eliminate the problem of egr cooler failure and the resulting damage to intake manifold and wiring. Do i have any financial recourse in this case due to recalled parts failing again ? I have requested that the dealer provide failed parts upon completion of reparis. Myself and others were put at risk when my truck lost all power on IH-30 in traffic before daylight. Dealer has verbally indicated that the egr cooler failed and melted intake manifold and wiring harness. No inspection by anybody except dealer service shop. No warning lamps or other symptoms noticed before failure.

I have a 2018 Ram 1500 ecodiesel with the 2nd gen 3.0L V6 diesel engine. This engine has a well known defect causing the tone wheel to delaminate and stall the engine. This is what happened to me and the dealership is telling me I need my tone wheel and position sensor replaced. Per what you have put out [XXX] My truck should be covered under the recall 73A as I meet all the requirements. Stellantis is denying my replacement. The dealership performed 66A and is telling me they are being rejected by Stellantis for 73A or any other work. Stellantis has been giving me the run around and throwing every excuse in the book why they won’t do it. The most recent excuse is they say the website provided is not a legitimate webpage so they aren’t going to follow the NHTSA guidelines it sets forth. Per the 2023 update to the class action ruling my truck is supposed to be covered, and after looking online there are hundreds of others facing the same problems. There is even a petition with 250 signatures online about this issue. Short of filing a class action I’m not sure what else to do. According to everything I’m reading per the NHTSA I’m in the right, but FCA/Stellantis is denying responsibility. This all feels reminiscent of the $105 million 2015 ruling against FCA for not honoring recalls. If there is anything you can do to address this matter I would greatly appreciate it because there are hundreds of us facing thousands in repairs because a trillion dollar company wants to squeeze out a couple more dollars profit. Prior to paying cash for this vehicle, I had the dealership connect it to an obd-11 scanner to ensure that there weren't any codes. (I wasn't aware at the time that if the codes were cleared prior to the test drive and before the vehicle was drove a certain amount of miles nothing would show up ) The truck seemed to be in ok condition. Before even making it 10 miles off the lot to my home the salesman who was to follow me in my new vehicle had issues and upon return to the dealership the truck had several "stored" and "active" codes which the salesman again cleared and told me to drive home and come back Monday with the truck the truck went into catastrophic failure and has been sitting since. The codes are P0365 indicating the entire PCM is failing or failed and P0606 an internal processor code which has to do with the computers not being able to calculate wheel speeds with the transmission and engine and how much gas to spray. And a P0616C EatC level 2 RPM performance code. There codes have to have been issues within the truck from my understanding to be both active and stored codes. I was sold a dangerous truck and they're not willing to give my money back or put me in a safe vehicle.

I am filing a formal complaint regarding a FAILED RECALL REMEDY and subsequent CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGE creating a severe fire hazard on my 2018 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel. In April, the official Z46 High-Pressure Fuel Pump (HPFP) recall repair was completed on my vehicle. Within one month of the repair, the Check Engine Light illuminated. I returned the vehicle to the authorized dealership (Lakeland Chrysler Dodge), where technicians dismissed the light as a minor "sensor issue" and stated it was resolved. Shortly after, the light returned a second time, and the dealership dismissed it again as a "programming error".Recently, the high-pressure fuel pump system suffered a catastrophic failure. The failure of the recall component directly caused severe consequential damage to the connected fuel return tube (Part #68229388AA), resulting in an active, dangerous fuel leak in the engine bay. Both the dealership and the manufacturer (Stellantis / Mopar Corporate, Case #98037315) are actively refusing to honor the federal safety recall mandate. They are trying to classify this as an out-of-pocket consumer expense, despite clear evidence that the initial recall remedy failed to correct the safety defect and directly destroyed adjacent fuel components. The vehicle remains unsafe to drive due to active fuel leakage.

Rollover valve in factory gas tank is defective and remains closed. This causes an issue when refilling the vehicle with gas. The gas pump will continuously stop filling as the fumes build up in the tank. This should be a recall as it’s a safety issue and a new tank cost over $2,000.

My 2018 Ram 1500 Ecodiesel failed during acceleration on a busy freeway at 70 mph. I was able to avoid traffic and coast to the right shoulder. After paying for a tow, my scan tool called out four permanent codes: P0336, P061C, P062B, and U1401, proving the unsafe stall was directly caused by a delaminated or broken tone wheel. This failure is the root cause behind my open safety recall 66A. However, recall 66A only calls for a software fix and does not address my hard no-start condition. Since my Ram 1500 was manufactured in April of 2018 and the X94 warranty extension cut off date is March 26, 2018, I have no recourse to force FCA to address my failed tone wheel related to and actually the root driver behind the 66A safety recall. I intend to request FCA perform a "Goodwill" repair of the tone wheel. My complaint is I do not have a way forward to get my truck road worthy and safe under recall 66A. FCA cannot perform 66A on my Ram since the software repair cannot be completed while the truck is in a hard no-start condition due to the root driver behind the 66A safety recall. I should not be required to pay for a component known by FCA and the NHTSA to be the actual cause behind the safety recall.

My mechanic has told me there is NO PART available and has been on back order for the past year. My only recourse is to locate one from a junk yard and hope that it will work. I've done an exhaustive on-line search and haven't been able to locate the module for my year and model truck through any RAM 'MOPAR' dealership. XXX, [XXX] East Bound 9:30 PM, , pulling a tandem-axle boat and trailer 6000# GVW , the truck slowed suddenly, in traffic 62 MPH. I contacted CJDR dealers in [XXX], and [XXX], and both stated there was no recall, warranty, or goodwill repair, available for my truck. [XXX] told me the same, when I called. I took the truck to an independent diesel shop, in [XXX] to just go ahead and have a CPS (crankshaft position sensor, and tone wheel) put in. He said both the CJDR dealers and Stellantis told him the truck was “ineligible” for the repair parts kit – he was unable to obtain one. They claimed *my* truck did not have the faulty tone wheel assembly. In the mean time, the code he documented P0335, did not return, and I continued to drive the truck, until XXX, 11:00PM I-4 [XXX] about the 106MM, the truck did the same thing, same trailer, same danger. After restart, limping home, OBDii code P0335, was present. On XXX, I took the truck for diagnosis, to New Smyrna CJDR, and they completed replacement of the CPS and tone wheel, today, XXX. The repair cost me 3,470.98 on Invoice Number XXX. I purchased the truck from New Smyrna CJDR, three months after it was built, which was two days before the production line started using the new design of CPS tone wheel. Stellantis knew, and the dealer knew. Still, they sent me off down the road. I would like to be reimbursed. Please find invoices from New Smyrna CJDR and Reed’s Garage.

I have a 2018 RAM 1500 Tradesman 2WD truck that the the ABS warning ligh as well as check engine, brakes warning light keeps staying on. I am very concerned about this as it may cause me to NOT be able to brake in time to. Also the cruise control does not work. I've taken it to several different mechanics as well as Autozone and I'm told the error code is C2200-49 which is the Anti-lock Brake Module Internal- Internal Electronic Failure. My mechanic has told me there is NO PART available and has been on back order for the past year. My only recourse is to locate one from a junk yard and hope that it will work. I've done an exhaustive on-line search and haven't been able to locate the module for my year and model truck through any RAM 'MOPAR' dealership. I've been on several different message boards and have been told there are thousands of trucks out there with this issues. Please, help us by making RAM do a recall on this vehicle. System involved: The vehicle experienced a sudden electronic/network failure consistent with loss of ECU/BCM/CAN bus communication. The instrument cluster, throttle control, and HVAC system became inoperative simultaneously. • Safety risk: While driving, the vehicle abruptly lost throttle response and critical driver information with no warning, followed by an uncommanded engine shutdown after coming to a stop. This created a serious risk of collision due to loss of propulsion, inability to react to traffic conditions, and lack of situational awareness. • Confirmation of issue: The vehicle was evaluated by an dodge service center, which identified an ECU software mismatch and performed a system update. The failure has not been intentionally reproduced due to safety concerns, but the incident is documented. • Inspections conducted: The vehicle has been inspected by an dodge service center. It has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives, as no accident occurred. • Warnings or prior symptoms: No warning lights, messages, or abnormal behavior were present prior to the failure. The malfunction occurred suddenly and without advance notice.

Steering Gear Rack - Steering control rapidly diminished over a short amount of time. Initially was okay but steering began to intermittently stick and wouldn’t self-center. Issue became nearly full-time within a month. Got to the point that it required a ‘tug’ to re-center. Took to a shop to additionally find that the boot clamps had broke themselves loose, causing the boots to separate and freely slide around. Driver seat airbag - service airbag system (?) warning on dash. Loose/bad connector in center console according to a mechanic leading to potential airbag deployment failure. Both of these issues are reportedly exceedingly common among RAMs, with steering gear racks extending as far back as 2013, and the airbag situation commonly effecting at least the ‘18 models. Additionally, Rear axle (passenger-side) - Shop discovered at the same time a seal had failed causing axle lubricant to spray onto hub causing extreme risk to breaking system due to the spray. Potentially lead to corrosion of caliper and caused advanced rusting resulting in wheel not spinning freely/easily. Driver side works as should. Warranty refused coverage of steering gear rack due to ‘improper installation’, as they claim, due to boots having separated from their respective mount points and loose clamps. Dates and mileage are rough estimates at time of on-set.

The delamination caused the screen to randomly turn things on/off, call random people including the emergency number, radio switching channels and changing volume, park assist warning buzzer to stop working, back-up camera ceased working and numerous other symptoms. Any, or all of these symptoms, will distract a driver to the point where an accident could occur. This has not only happened to me but thousands of other owners who own uconnect radios in their vehicles. There is a visible defect in the touch screen of the infotainment unit, which seems to be progressing in a top down direction. I suspect that the touch screen is delaminating and the electrical characteristics of the unit are degrading. The unit now "self-selects" and changes radio settings (FM to AM, or station), or screens (navigation, to CarPlay, to comfort settings, to...). Any and all features selectable through the touch screen, are accessible and changeable randomly; navigation screens and destination changes via both CarPlay and the onboard navigation system; windshield wiper/rain detection settings; high-beam auto dim on/off; parking assist; HVAC temperature, vent selection controls and fan speed; windshield and side mirror defroster; trailer setting selection. So far driver distraction has presented the primary risk. I have experienced the unit self-selecting/changing selections at a rate of approximately 5 selections per second, too fast to keep up with while parked or driving. I am concerned that parking assist features could be turned off or warning volumes changed without my knowledge. If towing a trailer, having the trailer braking options changed or having a different trailer selected could be dangerous. Power relays are also being switched rapidly. My issue has not been confirmed by a dealer or independent service center, but there are numerous Youtube postings documenting the issue. My vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others. There were no warning lamps or messages. The first symptom was the undesired stopping of podcasts or changing of episodes. The problem became prominent approximately 12/14/2023 and has persisted. On [XXX] while driving on [XXX] in southern California the unit dialed and connected to the 911 operator twice and terminated both calls without my choosing to do so. Similarly outgoing emergency calls could be cancelled without completion. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I am writing to your Company regarding the unavailability of the ABS Control Module for 2017 Ram 1500 trucks. My truck, like those of numerous other Ram owners, has a malfunctioning ABS Control Module. Because of this malfunction, the ABS and cruise control do not work. In turn, this places me and other owners of this vehicle in an unsafe situation, in that the lack of an operating ABS system is conducive to skidding and accidents. Some owners have even reported that they cannot drive their vehicles due to locked brakes resulting from this malfunction. I have tried every source in existence in my efforts to find a replacement module, but I have been totally unsuccessful. I have been told by one of your Customer Service representatives that your Company is “…unable to maintain a complete inventory for an indefinite period and the lower the demand, the less likely it is we will have stocked parts. As such, the part you are requesting is no longer in our inventory.” I am aware of a current class action suit against your company for the RAM 2500 & 3500 for the same issue. I guess the owners’ lives of the Ram 1500 are not as important. Wilson, et al. v. FCA US LLC Case No. 4:22-cv-0044 This is absolutely appalling. Apparently, several thousand Ram owners who paid tens of thousands of dollars for their trucks are not important enough to your Company to warrant providing the necessary support for their products. I am thoroughly disgusted with the disrespect and value you place on the safety and lives of your truck owners and the other drivers on the road who are in danger due to the lack of support or concern you have for your “valued? owners”.

There are countless number of individuals like myself who have paid good hard earned money to own these trucks only to find out that everyone I know has endured the issue with the ABS module it seems. And online that's all you can find now me owning other manufactured vehicles I've never encountered this issue before. But I don't understand how this is a known part that will fail and when it does fail it's up to the owners of the truck to have to pay out of pocket thousands of dollars to get it repaired after spending more than $50,000 to be able to own the truck. I can't imagine the other owners who are not able to afford these costly expenses to get repaired immediately and are forced to continue driving on the road ways endangering themselves and other innocent lives on the road ways

I have a 2018 RAM 1500 that keeps flashing for the code for the ABS module. This malfunction has completely disabled the ABS system. My mechanic feels that this is a genuine safety hazard and the module needs to be replaced. RAM says the parts have been on back order for over a year. I'm on several different RAM/DOGE message boards and there are plenty of trucks that are having this issue and are told the same that the part is on back order for over a year. Please hold RAM/DODGE accountable for this obvious defect. Thank you for your time.

The 8.4" UConnect Screen has a bubble along the whole top of the screen due to delamination. This causes the stations to randomly jump from station to station and if you make a phone call with the connected phone, after you hang up, it will start calling random people. You can disconnect the battery and leave it disconnected for a few minutes, but it starts back within a day. Upon Google search, there are multiple issues with this same problem with this screen along all lines of Dodge and Chrysler products.

The radio station changes frequently. It makes calls from your phone using Bluetooth and the only way to stop it is by using your phone which causes distractions. This is a known problem based on Google searches and Ram/Chrysler should fix this issue before ppl are injured/killed while driving. The u connect screen controls, climate, hazard lights, phone, and other apps which is a huge problem and safety issue.

The radio which is a 8.4 uconnect screen had started to delaminate cause the screen to randomly select items and constantly switch back and forth from one screen media to hvac controls and apps, it automatically turn my heated and cooled seats on and off and again and had even turned my auto dimmer for my rear view mirror off, and when I tried to turn it back on it would select the auto dimmer like I was touching the screen when I was not. This mind you while I was trying to drive at night making a huge distraction. It constantly hits items on the screen which brings up dialog which requires me to look down away from the road.

PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE AND STARTED TO HEAD HOME AND THE SERVICE SHIFTER MESSAGE CAME ON. THEN THE TRANSMISSION WARNING CAME ON AS WELL AS A MESSAGE WITH THE BRAKE SYSTEM. THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AS WELL AS THE LIGHTENING BOLT IN RED. I GOT TO THE NEXT EXIT AND PULLED INTO THE CLOSEST PARKING LOT AND TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF. HOWEVER, IT DID NOT TURN OFF. ALL OF MY GAGES WENT BESSEL, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS TURNED ON, ON THEIR OWN, AND THEN ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE SHIFTER TURNED RED AND FLASHED. THE DASHBOARD CONTINUED TO LIGHT UP LIKE IT WAS TRYING TO RESET. I TRIED TO START THE VEHICLE AND IT WOULD NOT START. ONCE ALL THE LIGHTS FINALLY TURNED OFF I WAS ABLE TO START THE VEHICLE BUT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS STILL COMING ON.

I WAS DRIVING AT THE SPEED LIMIT AND JUST THE ACT OF CHANGING THE LANES CAUSED THE REAR END TO SWAY A BIT.
