Price & value
We don't guess at prices. Get a real value for the exact truck from Kelley Blue Book, then see how the asking price compares.
Is it a good deal?
- Look up the truck on Kelley Blue Book. Choose its cab, trim, options, miles, condition and your ZIP code, and note the private party value (or the fair purchase price if you're buying from a dealer).
- Enter that value and the asking price below.
Enter both numbers to see the deal rating.
The rating only compares the two numbers you enter: within 5% of the value is a good deal, 5–15% under is a great deal, and more than 15% under is a buy-it-now price. Know Your Truck isn't affiliated with Kelley Blue Book. Rust, accident history, lifts and mods, and service records all change what a truck is worth, so always get a pre-purchase inspection.

On or about September 10, 2026, I was driving on the interstate at 70 MPH. Suddenly, I lost control of the steering with no prior warning or warning lights. It was obvious the power steering was not working. The power steering warning light finally came on about 15 min later. Needless to say, my reaction time to potential road hazards was greatly diminished. If my wife was driving she would not have the strength to steer. This happened on I 30 and exit 117 in Benton Arkansas while driving 70 MPH. There is a recall on my make, model and year but apparently not for my specific vehicle. It cost me $3045.75 to get it repaired. The vehicle is available for inspection if needed.

The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. While driving approximately 40-50 MPH, the vehicle lost power steering assist, causing the steering wheel to be difficult to turn. The vehicle was driven to the residence. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the rack and pinion was replaced. The contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V021000 (Steering); however, the VIN and model were not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 110,000.

Electronic power steering rack and pinion failed and made the steering wheel very difficult to turn. This caused the truck to turn wide into a parking lot and almost strike another vehicle. This issue is a known problem for other RAM models, but does not officially apply to mine. Now, the truck will start fine, as soon as you turn the steering wheel, an alert comes up on the dash and the steering wheel is difficult to turn.

While driving the EPS went out displaying a warning message service power steering. I lost all control of power steering, had it scanned by a shop they stated I would have to replace to rack and pinion EPS unit. The issue is trying to find the part, not to meant it is going to cost between 3000-4000 for the part and then the labor cost to change out. When looking to find parts i came across a report saying there has be several issues with this same EPS issue and it could be covered under a defeat recall or law suit act.

This complaint is to report a power steering failure in my 2014 ram truck which has only 21,345 miles. The failure happened at the start up so there was no safety risk for me, but I understand from reading prior complaints that it can happen during driving. There was no warning or issue prior to the failure. I simply started the truck and the red warning light came on the dash and I had no power steering. I haven’t taken it to a mechanic as they charge 200 just to diagnose the issue and dealer informed me the eps steering rack is on back order. I read this issue has been known since 2023. Is that true? How many complaints are needed to get a recall for this issue? I’m almost reluctant to drive it again if/when it gets fixed.

As is clearly a very common defect, my exhaust manifold bolts broke and the manifold warped. This is the second time this has happened. RAM knows about this problem. In fact, it is so well known that it is called "the HEMI tick". The fact that such a shoddy part has continued to be put on millions of trucks and other vehicles should warrant a recall.

The contact owns a 2014 Ram 1500. The contact stated that the ABS, BRAKE, and an unknown warning light were illuminated. The contact stated that approximately one year later, while driving approximately 5 MPH in the rain, the steering wheel jerked left and right continuously, and the brake pedal was depressed and the vehicle stopped facing on-coming traffic. The vehicle was driven to the residence. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the vehicle was then taken to a dealer for an oil change and spark plugs replacement; however, after driving away, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the ABS module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired because the parts were on back order. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 68,000.

This complaint concerns failure of the remedy for Safety Recall Z46 / NHTSA Campaign 22V406 involving the high pressure fuel pump (HPFP) on a 3.0L diesel pickup. The HPFP had previously been replaced under the recall by an authorized dealer. About 19 months later, while the vehicle was at a dealership for service, the replacement HPFP failed again during dealer testing. The dealer documented metal contamination throughout the fuel system caused by the HPFP failure. The dealer then replaced the contaminated fuel system components. After those repairs and during post-repair test driving, the vehicle developed new bottom-end engine noise. The dealer later documented connecting rod bearing damage / rod knock and recommended complete engine replacement. The vehicle had been brought in with no bottom-end engine noise, and the dealer’s intake inspection documented oil condition as OK. An independent oil analysis later showed the engine oil was normal and did not indicate long-term lubrication failure. This suggests the engine damage occurred acutely after the HPFP failure and resulting contamination event, not from routine wear. This condition creates a serious safety risk because HPFP failure can cause loss of fuel pressure, engine stall, or loss of motive power, and the subsequent engine damage raises the risk of sudden engine failure or seizure while driving. That could increase the risk of a crash, especially in traffic or at highway speeds. The failure was confirmed by the dealer and is documented in the repair order. The vehicle remains inoperable and is available for inspection upon request. I am requesting investigation into whether the recall remedy was adequate, since the recall replacement HPFP failed again and the resulting contamination appears to have led to catastrophic secondary engine damage.

When the unit sets a code, it disables the trailer brakes, along with the anti-lock brakes. This could be really bad in on a hill or sudden need to stop. The first occurrence was in 2023. I was unable to find a replacement, so i found a company to repair the unit. After the current incident, I have started looking for a new unit. They are still not readily available. How can this not be a major safety problem? Manufacturers are required to provide ABS systems in cars, but not the parts to fix the systems? This seems to be a very common problem with the 2013-2018 Ram 1500 trucks. The problem part shows C2200, ABS module internal; internal electronic fault.

Shortly after purchasing this truck, the ABS, Traction Control, Electronic braking system, and trailer brake system lights all came on. Back then I did some research and learned it was just something I will have to live with. Fast forward 2 years and the other day I drove to work like normal but when I came back out to my truck the electronic power steering had gone out. Some research told me that it was caused by my ABS module going bad. It is ridiculous that this part is going out in so many trucks and it is not even available for purchase. I’d happily replace it if it were available. Downright irresponsible on Ram’s part.

With no warning my truck lost all anti-lock braking, traction control, stability control, trailer brakes, and 4x4 capability (computer will not allow 4x4 to engage). This is due to an "abs module" failure. Ram/Dodge has no new units available to repair this faulty part and no ETA on if/when they will be available. There was thankfully no accident with this failure but obviously, it could lead to one. Especially since the part cannot be fixed. Owners are left with scavenging used parts that are still operational. As in my case, my vehicle will have to be "fixed" with an abs module from a wrecked truck! Also, the electronic steering can fail with no warnings. Leading to complete loss of power steering, traction control, and stability control. This failed on my truck as I was driving as well. Thankfully again, no accident with this failure. There is no new factory part to replace this unit either. I had this repaired with a remanufactured unit that failed in one month, then it was replaced again and seems to be fixed for now. These are keystone components to an automobile and it is unacceptable for them to just stop working and have no available parts to the responsible consumer. This leads to owners having a useless worthless vehicle rotting in the driveway or a highly unsafe vehicle on the road to those irresponsible. I want to also shed light to the fact that these issues encompass model years from 2009 to brand new 2026 Ram trucks. There are people with 2025-2026 Ram trucks dealing with this same issue, my vehicles age isn't an iota to molten issues under the surface to Ram owners! The front fuel tank strap mounting bracket broke. There is a recall (U-04/NHTSA 18V-160) for model years 2009-2012 for this issue. It also was added to models thru 2018 as TSB/Ext. Warranty #14-002-18 Rev. A., which expired on my vehicle in March 2026. This means that the expense will be out of my pocket. What I don't understand is, it is a known safety issue on 2009-2018 Ram 1500 trucks, but only a recall for model years 2009-12. And since the recall doesn't presently cover my model year (2014), there was no notification of this issue sent to me. I believe that since it is a known issue included in a recall/TSB of model years through 2018, the recall should be extended to cover all model years. This failure could put myself and others at risk because there is only one bracket holding my fuel tank on, which could cause loss of control of vehicle or a fire to the vehicle if the remaining bracket breaks. This issue was discovered by a private auto repair shop, in which there were no warnings signals from the vehicle.

It causes the vehicle to no longer go into "ECO" mode which is wasting fuel. This happens every time I fill the gas tank and does not go away until the tank reaches 3/4 tank. The part is garbage and is known to fail.

The vehicle experienced a sudden loss of power steering while in operation, creating a safety concern due to reduced ability to control the vehicle. At the time of failure, multiple electrical and control module faults were present. The vehicle was inspected by a dealership, which diagnosed the issue as requiring rack and pinion replacement. The owner paid out of pocket for this repair. Dealership documentation shows the steering failure occurred alongside multiple electrical system faults. During the same service period, the dealership also performed multiple safety recall repairs, including control module and software updates. These systems are integrated, and the steering failure occurred in conjunction with electrical and control module issues later addressed under recall. This raises concern that the original failure may be related to defects now identified under active safety recalls. The owner incurred significant repair costs prior to recall correction. This situation presents a potential safety related defect involving steering and electrical system interaction.

The recall for the loss of signal from the tone ring in recall 66A was supposed to allow the vehicle to use the signal from the camshaft positioning sensor. This recall was completed on my truck but the loss of signal from a bad tone ring has resulted in the same condition as the original recall which is inoperability of the vehicle. This still poses a safety threat as the recall did not correct the issue. The manufacturer is now claiming that the recall period is expired and the tone ring failure will not be covered. the repair is 1700 and may still result in a failure of the vehicle to maintain propulsion as it did for me on Jan 30th, 2026. I turned the vehicle to park in a diagonal spot, and it would not stop. I had taken my foot off the gas just prior to starting the turn and then tapped the gas in the turn. After I tapped it an physically brough my foot back to the seat and then placed it on the brake, it accelerated. It drove over a curb, through a metal barrier and into a glass door and stopped at the side mirrors while my foot was firmly pressing the brake down. The cops on scene said the video looked like I was accelerating, but like I said I was firmly pushing down on the brake. Only the left rear brake light worked and is hard to see because the plastic cover is damaged. Prior to the accident the vehicle did not have the ABS light blinking, but it was blinking when I retrieved my personal items out of the vehicle 2 days later. There was a woman bending over/ in the corner by counter in the store and had the vehicle not stopped when it did, she would have been hit; when she stood up mere inches from the trunk, this put me, the driver into shock.

I own a Ram pickup that has experienced a failure of the ABS brake module. The replacement ABS module is not available from the manufacturer, and I have now been waiting approximately three years for the necessary replacement part. I have contacted Ram dealerships regarding this problem and have repeatedly been told that the ABS module is on backorder and/or unavailable. Despite waiting for approximately three years, there is still no reasonable timeframe for obtaining the part and repairing my vehicle. This is not an ordinary convenience item. The ABS module is a critical safety component of the vehicle’s braking system. When the module fails, important safety systems can be disabled, including anti-lock braking and traction/stability control. Depending on the failure, other vehicle functions can also be affected. I am extremely concerned that Stellantis/Ram has allowed owners to remain without a manufacturer-supported repair for years because the replacement part is unavailable. An owner should not be forced to wait three years for a safety-critical braking component. I have also found numerous complaints from other Ram owners reporting similar ABS-module failures and extended or indefinite parts shortages. This indicates that the problem may be widespread rather than an isolated parts-supply issue. I am asking NHTSA to investigate: * The failure rate of this ABS module. * Whether the ABS module has a known defect or premature failure condition. * Why replacement modules have been unavailable for such an extended period. * Whether Stellantis/Ram has an adequate plan to repair affected vehicles. * Whether a safety recall, special service campaign, extended warranty, or other remedy is warranted. * Whether affected owners should be provided replacement modules at no cost. I believe it is unreasonable and unsafe for a manufacturer to leave owners without access to a replacement for a critical braking-system component for approximately three years.

Tailgate was dropping open while driving, and sometimes would not latch when shut without slamming it several times. Took it to Gupton Dodge Dealership 37172 and they performed the recall. A few months later the same problems started occurring again, then after a while longer the tailgate actually would not open at all anymore. I took it back to the same dealership to notify them that their recall repair failed. They told me the recall had already been done and it was working when it left their shop, so I would need to pay for any further repairs which would require replacing the entire actuator assembly. I brought the truck back home and removed the tailgate latch cover to assess the problem myself. I found that the original actuator was still on and had never been replaced in the recall work. I also found that by cleaning up the metal actuator parts with carb cleaner spray, and lubing it with dry lube and white lithium grease at critical movement spots, the actuator and tailgate latches started working perfectly again. I now realize that they very likely did the same thing for the recall, just cleaned and lubed it, and no parts replaced or added. I expect it will now work for another few more months before dust and moisture will cause it to need cleaning and lubing again in order to keep it working. Serious safety hazard, not just from dropped cargo! My wife closed tailgate once while my 6 year old grandson was standing next to her. As soon as she stepped away the heavy tailgate fell open hard, missing my grandson's head by inches. Dealers are just doing a quick, cheap, temporary fix to say they met their obligation, and are perpetuating the danger. Even if the actuator assembly is replaced with the OEM part, it will also fail from normal dust & moisture over time. The recall needs to require the actuator assembly to be REPLACED with an IMPROVED DESIGN that will not fail from normal dust and moisture, since it is not in a sealed compartment.

This is getting ridiculous. Every time my vehicle is washed at the dealership with the high power jets, water gets into the vehicle from the third brake light and blows the bulb. As a disabled vet, it is getting impossible to climb into the bed and replace. This time, I took it to the dealership, which they replaced. They solution? The third brake light unit needs to be sealed, including on all the other Rams including the news one. If Stellantis is aware of this, why is this not a recall? Their next recommendation? Stop getting the truck washed. Is dirty Rams everywhere the advertisement Stellatis wants? The new slogan should be, "buy a Ram, just don't wash it...ever". The third brake light bulb will not blow when the truck is detailed or it a normal to light rain. Between the heavy rains and the dealership's high powered water jets, there is a permanent water stain on my headliner. The dealership warned me that if too much water gets inside, it will damage the RTF (?), which will render the truck useless. This has been an ongoing problem since I have owned the truck, which was purchased in 2015 or 2016. I want to know directly from Stellantis that if I replace the third brake light (again), but with an aftermarket LED unit, will the light continue to leak. If you conduct an online search, you will see how many other Ram owners have the same problem, yet Stellantis does nothing. If Ram's high powered water jets blow the bulbs, why does Ram still use the high powered jets? I am asking that Stellantis replace all the Ram third brake lights with aftermarket LED units and seal those units. Additionally, I need my headliner replaced. Attached is today's receipt of the bulb being replaced along with my stained headliner. A vehicle cannot pass a safety inspection with the third brake light out. You can even see on the dealership's comments, "Do Not Wash Indefinitely".

This is the 4th time it's happened and also the 2nd time iv almost been killed!! I have a 2014 ram 1500 which iv grown to love. Iv have alot of issues but never complained and just took care of ... yet the gauge cluster display decides to go into a party mode (strobing) and flickering or just flat out going black!!! I have bad eyes and twice now within 2 months driving at night iv gone off the road because of the flashing in my eyes! Iv found this is a common issue but the dealer told me I cannot get it fixed even though it's been recalled under other trucks! This has almost killed me! Please all I'm asking is to fix this for me... I love this truck but I'm terrified to drive it now with this issue let alone get rid of it and God for bid someone else has an accident . Please help a ram fan pile on the miles with a safe vehicle.. thank you for your time, im sorry for the long message but this is very serious and obviously a safety issue . Again, iv gone off the road and avoided a very serious incident that was caused by a faulty part. I completly understand parts going bad and having to replace them out of pocket. NOTHING SHOULD WORK FINE ONE MINUTE AND THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN START STROBBING IN ANYONES FACE . Thank you again

So my truck has the abs module part that has failed on it. Over the time it’s failed we have seen things go out on it that directly relate to safety being a concern. First is the fact that sometimes the brakes fail completely and cause concern that I might hit another vehicle or person. Second is the issue of the truck very rarely accelerating without driver interaction this is a safety issue because the uncontrolled speed could cause additional accidents. Lastly is the issue where the truck will very rarely go into an undesirable gear will driving resulting in immediate action to be taken by the driver. All of these incidents were taken up with multiple dodge dealers and Stelantis motor corp without action taken on their part. All parties have stated that repair is impossible due to lack of availability. When asked to provided assistance to get truck repaired at a different location without cost to driver, driver was told no. Driver was also told no after driver stated this was now becoming an increased risk.

We had our vehicle serviced at the Olathe Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram service center between the dates of May 26, 2024 through June 27th, 2024 on 3 separate occasions due to following. Received truck back on June 17th with a blown air suspension after confirming that the air suspension was filled firm when brought the truck in due to an email received for a recall and when driving the vehicle, the power steering kicked in due to the battery terminal not being secured properly (confirmed by AAA technician). No vehicle lights were turned on during this. Returned truck on June 25th, 2024, received truck on June 26th, 2024 where diesel gas was spewing from my truck sitting idol in my driveway after driving it straight home from the service center. Returned on June 27th, 2024 at 7:00 AM CST after being told by the Dodge technicians that I should've drove the truck to them and that diesel has a burning point of over 1,000 degrees. They towed my truck to the shop after I refused. Received my truck at 2:30 PM EST the same day for my road trip that had been scheduled for 6 months. On July 6th, 2024, when driving my truck 4 of the 5 lug nuts broke off completely in which the tire flew off of my truck and caused a singular car accident and damage to my vehicle. We could've been seriously injured due to where we were on the road. I had additional injury to my lower back during the accident incident. We had the vehicle inspected by the California local police department as well as the licensed technician who confirmed that this was negligence by the service center who serviced my truck less than 2 weeks prior. I am in the process of filing a complaint with the General Attorney due to not receiving any response from Dodge regarding this matter.

Stellantis is doing what large corporations do and protecting their bottom line at the expense of putting customers' safety at risk. We are the little guys with limited financial means and power, to go up against a large corporation to get them to act and do what is right. Please advise soonest. Driving on the interstate without cruise control on at 70 mph. I had a vehicle passing in the fast lane and a vehicle in front of me slowing down so I applied a little pressure to my brake peddle and my truck automatically began to accelerate on its own. I kept pushing on the brake peddle and it was stuck in a acceleration. The brakes tried slowing it down but it would not stop acceleration once I took my foot of the brake peddle it just rapidly began to pick up speed on its own again! I ended up pushing down on the break peddle long enough to turn off the engine and coast off to the side on the interstate. I was so glad it happened while I was driving it and not my wife she could of wrecked into the back of the vehicle in front of us and caused a multiple car crash! The Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) light came on while I was pushing down on the brakes to try stopping the truck, but once I turned the engine off and back on again the (ETC) did not come back on although the brake lights stayed on for about 10 miles.

My ABS module and TCS light has been on for several years. I have taken it to the dealer multiple time to have it repaired, only to be told it is on back order. This has been going on for over two years. I have a life time warranty through Chrysler as long as I own the truck. Since the warning lights have been on I have had many instances where my truck has lost control and slipped on the highway most of the time in rain. I have also had my truck lock up once, when a person made a right turn into my lane in front of me, forcing me to hit the breaks. My truck skid through the intersection and almost rear ended the vehicle. I avoid traveling with my family in the truck now.

MY TRUCK HAS BEEN CUTTING OFF WHILE DRIVING ON THE ROAD. TOOK IT TO LANDMARK DODGE IN MORROW, GA. THEY DID TWO REPAIRS TO FIX THE PROBLEM, AND CHARGE ME ON THE 8/31/20 FIRST REPAIR $968.81. IT CUT OFF AT A COUPLE MILES FROM THE SHOP. SECOND REPAIRS ON THE 9/11/20. PICK IT UP ON THE 9/14/20. THOSE REPAIR COST ME $1830.20. AGAIN IT CUT OFF A COUPLE MILES DOWN THE ROAD WHILE DRIVING. Tire size is 275/60R20 115T AT+. Regarding the set of tires purchased from Sam’s Club via Pirelli, all 4 tires are dry rotted along the bead of each individual tire. The tires do not maintain pressure and the pressure drops significantly lower than the recommended PSI regarding environmental changes and ambient temperature in different regions. The manufacturer workmanship of the tire causes deflation in the tires which leads to different tread wear on the tires. I’ve contacted the manufacturer regarding the issue and they have not provided guidance to the merchant as a vendor to replace tires at no cost to the consumer submitting this report. I’m reporting this issue because Pirelli is not upholding their warranty in it’s entirety.

The Foam protector that goes on the head rest cracked and is crumbling. I contacted them about the issue but they said that warranty was over and they tried to sell me the same car seat for a discounted price. My sister had bought the same exact car seat and she had the same issue with the foam head rest. I believe the quality of the foam part that goes in the head rest is faulty, it shouldn't have cracked and crumbled. My child's safety was at risk, if i had not taken it apart to wash it I would have not noticed it. I believe these specific car seats are not safe for use.

Thursday, July 21, 2022 11:46 AM The foam that is minimally-glued into the headrest popped off of the shell after a couple months of use. We were able to hold it in place with the fabric cover for several months. Then, the foam began slipping and ultimately cracked in half. We were unable to keep it in place after that. We have photos of the damage. The seat has been destroyed per the request of the manufacturer. Once the headrest is raised above the level of the outer seat shell, any amount of pressure or holding onto the headrest causes it to bend and flex. I believe this allowed the headrest foam to pop off. Without the foam in the correct location, there is not appropriate padding for the child's head in an accident. A report was made to Chicco. Though outside of the warranty period, Chicco replaced the seat.

I believe this allowed the headrest foam to pop off. Without the foam in the correct location, there is not appropriate padding for the child's head in an accident. A report was made to Chicco. Though outside of the warranty period, Chicco replaced the seat.

The Air Suspension System on my 2014 Dodge Ram 1500 4 X4 has stalled or has currently frozen and this makes it extremely difficult to steer the vehicle. Even at low speeds 25-45 mph it leaves the pavement when crossing the slightest pavement imperfections. The Highways of Louisiana and Texas are filled with imperfections and it is a horrifying experience to drive this vehicle in this condition. I have taken it to several different respected mechanics, and many are the most recommended and it's always the same. "Dodge needs to have their butts kicked for putting this system in a small truck such as this." They warns me, 'it will only grow worse as the truck gets older.' When driving on the Interstate (I-20) in Louisiana and Texas the truck leaves the ground whenever I pass over a dip, bump or a bridge. This is scary when I am driving along beside an 18 Wheeler. Crossing Railroad Tracks is so distressing and uncomfortable needless to say, It feels like the truck is falling apart. I am afraid for my own safety, but I must drive the 35 miles one way to work five days a week. I have replaced the pump, but now the pump is pumping, but it appears to be something else. The local Dealerships have a reputation of ripping people off, and when I call to inquire or complain I only get a Salesmen who can help by assisting me to trade it in. At this point, with vehicle prices skyrocketing I just this dealership should sale vehicles worth the money they get. Dodge really needs to fix this problem. I have looked on YouTube and noticed this is a very common problem, and in every video the owners are stating how dangerous these vehicles are when the system goes out. It is life threatening to simple drive this vehicle to work in order to make a living to support my family.
