Price & value

We don't guess at prices. Get a real value for the exact truck from Kelley Blue Book, then see how the asking price compares.

Is it a good deal?

  1. Look up the truck on Kelley Blue Book. Choose its cab, trim, options, miles, condition and your ZIP code, and note the private party value (or the fair purchase price if you're buying from a dealer).
  2. Enter that value and the asking price below.
Check value on Kelley Blue Book ↗

Enter both numbers to see the deal rating.

The rating only compares the two numbers you enter: within 5% of the value is a good deal, 5–15% under is a great deal, and more than 15% under is a buy-it-now price. Know Your Truck isn't affiliated with Kelley Blue Book. Rust, accident history, lifts and mods, and service records all change what a truck is worth, so always get a pre-purchase inspection.

The vehicle experienced severe transmission hesitation, rough shifting, and shuddering early on, which was brought to a Chevrolet dealership under factory warranty at 16,875 miles (April 2021). The issue was reproduced by the dealer at that time. The transmission has now suffered a complete failure at 97,277 miles, creating an immediate driving and safety hazard due to loss of propulsion while operating the vehicle. The failed transmission and vehicle are currently available for inspection upon request.

Transmission is shuddering, I had a transmission flush done, and a tune up, and neither helped. I am concerned the transmission is going to go out while driving, especially in a busy intersection and cause an accident. I have had problems with the vehicle no accelerating when need going uphill to get out of the way of traffic when turning. Problem is duplicated every day until I can get it fixed. It has been looked at by a dealership and other personal mechanic shops. No lights on the dash have appeared.

The infotainment system is not functioning. The screen will come on as I turn on the truck, then it goes blank. Sometimes it flashes and then goes black. I cannot use any of my apps or connect to Apple CarPlay. This has been going on for months now. I have complained to Chevrolet and the dealership. They have failed to provide a solution. This truck only has 35,000 miles on it. We can no longer take it on trips because we have no navigation, especially in areas where wi-fi may be hard to connect to by just our phones. We have followed all the trouble shooting provided in the Chevy app or online and nothing helps.

I purchased my truck from Karl Chevrolet in Ankeny, IA around September of 2019. Approximately 1.5 years after purchasing the vehicle, I began having issues with my infotainment system intermittently resetting itself while I was driving. On or about the end of 2021 (after this had occurred a few time), I brought the truck into the Karl Chevrolet in Ankeny, IA, as it seemed to become more frequent of an occurrence. The technician told me that this thing happens all the time with the infotainment systems and it was nothing to be concerned about and because it was intermittent, they may not be able to identify the issue unless it was actively occurring and I was told to come back in if it continued to happen. Shortly after, I had moved to [XXX] in April of 2022, I began to have more frequent issues with the infotainment system randomly resetting and eventually it began impacting phone calls, where people would cut in and out or disconnect, beginning to cause even more of a safety and distraction issue. After conducting some of my own research, I learned that I was not the only one that had issues with the infotainment system in the 2019 Colorado and that GM had published several Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) regarding the infotainment system, and there had been a class action lawsuit, [XXX] , et al. v. General Motors LLC, that covers the same issues I am having. On January 29, 2025, after the issue progressively getting worse, I took the truck to Gregg Young Chevrolet in Omaha, NE. After conducting a diagnosis they verbally confirmed there were TSBs regarding radio issues that after contacting the GM service center, GM's response was to replace the radio. This was to be at my own cost however, considering GM confirmed through TSBs there are issues with the infotainment system, coupled with safety concerns around distracted driving, I felt compelled to make this complaint. In and out of the shop for the last 3.5 years (Warranty is expired now) with multiple engin codes (CEL). Most having to do with the fuel delivery systems. Most common P026D, and P1089. It has been in the shop at least 6 or more times. GM won't stand by their product. Since the warranty ended I've put mor than $4,000 in to repairs for this and now I'm told it will cost me anouther $6000 to $7000 to repair. I bout this truck used with 60,000 miles on it and paid cash $50,000 to the dealer the originally sold it to the previous owner. I just want them to fix the issue once and for all. To date they have just thrown parts at it but it never fixes the problem. They have changed the MAP sensor, the fuel rail and pressure regulator, the injectors, and they've re-wired part of the wiring harness. None of this has solved the issues.

Unable to remove ignition key. Sticks in the accessory's mode. This happens periodically and I can eventually get key out by continually moving shifter back and forth until key can be removed. Concerned that eventually this won't work. I noticed that this is the main complaint on the Chevrolet Colorado.

The infotainment center goes out, then comes on on a frequent basis causing the loss of navigation system through CarPlay and now will not even connect to CarPlay also loses backup camera. In addition I have noted that when the blinker is on to signal a turn, it will stop the blinker system when the infotainment center goes out, which is a safety concern with the use of blinkers to signal approaching rear traffic to the vehicle. I have contacted the dealer and also see there’s an infotainment bulletin out. I have not had a response from the dealership as of this report. I am also a certified safety professional, and the loss of turn signal in conjunction with the infotainment center outage raises a safety concern in my opinion. This has been an ongoing issue with the system for the last year or so and has progressively gotten worse to the point that the screen now goes out every minute or so for 5 to 30 seconds and now CarPlay will no longer connect to phone for navigation. The constant screen going black started within the last 30 days of June 2025.

Steering binding hard in turns. Turns over 45 deg of steering wheel rotation cause periodic binding in the turn, regardless of vehicle speed. Can be reproduced when the truck isn’t moving. Very nearly caused a serious accident as could not control direction out of a turn at 30 mph, and had to come to a rapid stop to avoid hitting another car. Wiggling the steering wheel in both directions with moderate force/torque releases the binding steering. Vehicle only has 44,000 mi with no off-road use. Vehicle is going in for service on 4/18/24. Extremely dangerous failure mode, whatever it turns out to be.

February 2023 my son was driving 40 mph (approx) and the power steering became disabled. We took the truck to Landers McLarty Chevrolet. They never mentioned a known recall for this issue on previous year models. The Truck only had 27,000 miles but was out of warranty for the 3 years had expired in August. They gave an initial estimate and repair of $750. Picked up the vehicle and on the way home same thing happens again - lost power steering and then had warning lights on dash after it went out. Took it directly back to dealership. 3 attempts and 5 weeks later including +-$5K cost for 3 different repairs - issue seemed to be resolved. The issue returned today as my son was driving 55 mph (approx) lost power steering in extremely heavy traffic. Knowing what had happened before he was able to navigate to an exit without having an accident. There seems to be a known issue with the power steering on the Colorado. There was a previous recall on earlier year. I had made complaints and spoke to GM multiple times and they said it needed to go through the dealer. GM never mentioned any recall issue with power steering on previous years and offered no direction on possible issues as the truck sat for weeks on end with no resolution.

The vehicle was guided to the side of the road, where the contact and her husband noticed smoke emerging near the gear shift. For safety reasons, they both exited the vehicle and moved away from it. The contact then observed flames appearing between the driver's side of the cab and the bed of the vehicle, which quickly burst into flames. Another motorist attempted to extinguish the fire with an extinguisher, but it ran out before the fire could be contained, and the vehicle became fully engulfed in flames. Although the police were called, a formal report was not filed. The fire department arrived and extinguished the fire. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. VIN: [XXX]. 2019 Chevy Colorado, ~115,000 mi. FAILED COMPONENT: Vacuum pump failed internally; debris damaged the exhaust camshaft. Pump is cam-driven with no shear pin, so seizure cuts brake assist AND sends metal debris into the engine. Truck/parts are at Chapman Chevrolet, Tempe AZ, available for inspection. SAFETY RISK: On XXX, brake pedal suddenly lost assist while my son merged onto XXX from [XXX]. Pedal effort/stopping distance increased with no warning - high risk of collision merging into highway traffic. CONFIRMED BY DEALER: Yes. Chapman Chevrolet confirmed vacuum pump failure and camshaft damage, consistent with GM TSB 21-NA-268 (drive-lug failure). OTHER INSPECTIONS: Dealer only so far; not yet by GM, police, or insurance. Available if needed. PRIOR SYMPTOMS: None. There were no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms prior to the sudden brake assist failure on 7/1/26. This is a known failure mode on GM's cam-driven vacuum pump (TSB 21-NA-268; Special Coverage XXX covers 2014-2017 trucks/SUVs but not this 2019 Colorado despite same design). Requesting investigation into whether this is an unaddressed defect on 2018-2019+ Colorado/Canyon 2.5L trucks, and whether recall/extended coverage is warranted. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact's husband depressed the brake pedal, the brake pedal seized, and the contact had to veer and downshift to first gear to avoid crashing into the other vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle with vacuum pump failure and a fractured part from the vacuum camshaft. The vehicle was not fully repaired. The local dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not repaired by the dealer because the vehicle was not under recall and parts were on back order, as per the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.

I was driving around 60mph on a highway with cruise control. Heavy traffic resulted in a major accident in front of me. I slammed my brakes, which prevented me from getting involved in the altercation. However, the vacuum pump on the Colorado shattered, and I was forced to drive on the highway with a limited ability to brake. I recall the brake pedal being flushed against the floor. Luckily, I am young and strong. However, if any elderly person were driving, they would not be able to brake the car due to the excessive force I had to apply. Furthermore, after pulling off the highway, my engine leaked oil. To empathize, after slamming my brakes, my brakes stopped working.

The recall was for the fuel pump separating from the base which could damage the fuel line and create a fire hazard. I purchased my 2019 Chevy Colorado Z71 new in Feb 2019 from a dealership. About two years ago I began having shifting issues from 1st to 2nd gear, it would shudder and seem almost stuck, this would only occur infrequently. Right after I hit 100,000 miles (about a year ago) I have had nothing but issues with the 8 speed transmission, my vehicle is unable to shift from 1st to 2nd without having the shudder occur, it feels like the whole truck is shaking and loses power at acceleration. I took it in for their recommended "service bulletin" which was something that I had to locate myself because GM has not once communicated about there being any kind of shudder issue and they performed a simple flush of the transmission, not the service bulletin recommendation of three flushes and a different fluid. My truck is now in the shop because I am unable to drive it due to this ongoing issue that GM fails to recognize and so far have spent $1,000 attempting to rectify this issue and being told that in order for them to actually perform the service bulletin, it will be another $225 to diagnose the problem, around $500-$700 to perform the service bulletin, and then if that "does not fix the problem", I will have to spend another $900 on a torque converter because that "could" be the issue, the dealership "doesn't know". Then the third fix would be to replace the transmission ($5500-$8500) This has been a known issue since manufacturing and GM is failing to provide adequate assistance to fix a known problem with their 8 speed transmissions. I no longer feel safe to operate my chevy colorado in fear that it could cause serious injury to myself and others due to GM not being able to provide a safe fix to their ongoing issue.

I contacted dealer took vehicle back at which time the salesperson test drove it and agreed there was a problem the dealer then replaced the rack and realigned shortly after picking vehicle up while driving the problem started again and got worse the further I drove now vehicle has a mild vibration in front left when driving between 40-50 mph contacted dealer spoke to service manager who stated he wasnt aware of any vibration I explained it was coming back on Monday July 17, 2023 for paint touch up to please see whats going on, later same day took truck to go to store while driving the steering again became very tight as I was turning into parking lot power steering went out almost causing me to hit another car contacted dealer vehicle towed to dealer. was contacted by Ray from service who told me no codes were found and could not duplicate issue said tech drove it and found no vibration he asked for permission to drive home to check it I explained to him I have 2010 silverado 1500 with 200,000 miles that I plow with that steers better than this I also explained my brother owns exact truck same year every except his more miles and steers perfect, I also mentioned that a friend that is a gm tech said theres tsbs on these trucks for this issue he stated he had no knowledge of such which is strange since I clearly see them online. I am afraid to drive it. something isnt right. I love truck otherwise just want it fixed.

WHILE TRAVELING STRAIGHT DOWN A GRAVEL DRIVEWAY THE FRONT PASSENGER CONTROL ARM BROKE CAUSING THE WHEEL TO COLLAPSE AND FOLD UP UNDER THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH. THE DRIVER NOTICED LOSS OF STEERING AND THEN AN ABRUPT STOP. THERE WERE NO SIGNS THAT ANYTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE BEFORE THE INCIDENT OCCURED. THE VEHICLE DID NOT STRIKE ANYTHING TO CAUSE THE DAMAGE. THE DRIVEWAY WAS IN GOOD CONDITION AND THERE WAS NOTHING UNUSUALLY THAT WOULD HAVE CAUSED THIS TYPE OF FAILURE. NO ONE WAS HURT IN THE INCIDENT. THE FRACTURE IN THE CONTROL ARM SHOWS SIGNS OF CRACKING (BASED ON PICTURE ATTACHED).

Rear passenger side reverse light and blinker failing to illuminate. SAFETY: I have no way to safely drive in the dark or daylight because the blinkers and headlight are failing to work properly. INSPECTION and CONFIRMATION: The problem keeps reproducing itself about every month or so since purchase, July 4th of 2022. The dealership has attempted to work on the problem four times already. Three times at the same dealership and once at another auto shop. The dealership is the only one that has inspected it. They have been in communication with the engineers on multiple occasions. KNOWN PARTS REPLACED AT THIS TIME: The BCM, wiring harness, fuses, and fuse box have all been replaced since September of 2022 to now, March 7 2023. WARNING MESSAGES RECIEVED: The only warning messages I have gotten are blinker failure, break light failure, head light failure.

I was stopped, and given a warning by a police officer for having no tail lights whatsoever. All other lights were functioning, and they had been fine the day before. These vehicles have four identical stop and tail lamp bulbs. I tested with my multimeter, and found that there was current at the socket. I replaced all four bulbs. Upon inspection, I determined that a SINGLE bulb of the four had a broken filament. It seems ridiculous that one bulb failing should cause the other three to go off duty. What is the point of two bulbs on each side, if they all quit when one dies?

We purchased a 2019 Chevrolet Colorado December 2022. Beginning in January 2023 to current month July 2023 the vehicle has been at the dealership 4 times for the same occurrence: SERVICE STABILITRAK and ENGINE POWER IS REDUCED A warning “ding” sounds (the same noise as seatbelt, door ajar, etc) simultaneously with the messages “SERVICE STABILITRAK” and “ENGINE POWER IS REDUCED” The vehicle immediately is jerking or lurching, the engine no longer runs smoothly and is misfiring. The engine power reduced does not allow safe acceleration, and the vehicle is unstable (as it moves it feels like driving over a thousand speed bumps over and over), the engine misfiring is heard from the exhaust and the vehicle is visibly vibrating, on acceleration the maximum speed is 20 mph. All 4 times this has happened while driving the vehicle on highways in traffic. We are left unable to get out of the way of moving traffic, unable to accelerate, change lanes or make turns safely. Three of the four times we had the vehicle towed to the dealership. The last time the vehicle did this fortunately I was near our local dealership and drove it less than a mile so the service people could “witness” what I had been trying to explain what’s been happening with this vehicle. This is a very serious issue! My husband is 75 and very ill. I have to drive him 100+ miles for treatments on a regular basis. We cannot continue to be put in danger because of this vehicle default. We need this problem fixed not only for ourselves but for the safety of others, including unsuspecting drivers and innocent passengers, young, elderly, disabled, some simply misunderstanding our vehicles “failures to perform” in traffic on the roads. A trusted vehicle is very important. A stabile vehicle with sufficient engine power is a must if we are going to put it on the roads. “SERVICE STABILITRAK” and “ENGINE POWER IS REDUCED” is not new. General Motors needs to take action to correct this problem and educate dealers.
